Look it may not feel like a small map because we have to walk everywhere but honestly this map gets INSANELY small for those of us that don’t buy our mats and decide to get everything we need ourselves. Even with a 2000 player cap and on a medium pop server this is horrendous, I almost regret transferring to a bigger server due to always and I mean ALWAYS fighting others for mats, even when not flagged. More than 90% of the time I just want the base item (Ironwood, orichalcum ores, etc.) I throw on all of the gear needed depending on what I’m farming so that way the extras (Wildwood, void ores, and so on) are just a bonus to the stash for future crafts. There’s only really 3 routes for both iron wood and orichalcum ores that are worth running because the amount of mats you would get if it was always open for the amount of time spent there is worth it.
There’s literally not enough content or content worth doing to help divide these players up, Its either dungeons, OPR, or farm.
The map is seriously too small, or there just isn’t enough mats for each server in my opinion. I honestly might just stop playing for a few months to a year to give the game time to develop and for the map to get bigger that way when I come back I don’t have to fight 6 people on every route to get the items I want, I spend more time fighting than I do farming and that’s boring for me especially as a crafter.
And its only about to get worse with server merges. I love crafting, its what I do, I do NOT care personally about the PvP in this game, I only participate when I need to.
- Need azoth? OPR for a few games till I’m full for the day.
- Need coin? Nope because I get all the mats myself, anything I don’t need for a while or will use, I sell.
- Wars? Don’t participate because I don’t care who owns what especially right now when working on all my crafting skills.
- Invasions? Don’t care until I want to work on the achievements.
- Dungeons? I always use all my keys but again they don’t give me mats I am looking for as I don’t care for gold nor watermark because VB is 600 why would I need anything else? Yes I am aware it is not “BiS” gear, however I don’t need to min max gear for each dungeon. The goal is to complete it and VB does just fine.
- Chest runs? I buy all the refining materials I need if even needed, I do chests runs probably every few days as again Watermark means absolutely nothing and I don’t need any specific mats right now from said chest runs.
The game has a ton of potential but the more I play no matter how hard I try to cover up the flaws they are so strong that they just shine right through. I seriously hope this game gets better because I’d love to come back and play it but for now I think I’m going to just stop and we will see if I even come back with Lost Ark on the horizon and Ashes of creations in a year or 2 and a ton of others I’m lookin forward to.
Edit: Incase you’re curious on the time played and more I’ve got 678hrs in the game according to steam, but ingame its different, I think I sit around 650hrs of total playtime. I also have 74/133 achievements.
