One of the first things i do when i log in, is to check the town board. With wars and invasions being constant on my server, there was always something needing upgrading. I see it as my way of contributing seeing as i dont PVP.
When i transferred to one of the new servers, i knew the workstations would need upgrading and until they were, we were all going to find it difficult to get anything to do. In fact, i actually looked forward to it.
However, the reality is much different.
Nearly all the town boards projects are sitting waiting for the companies to click the install button. I even saw one of the company governors, just sitting on the fountain and then they logged out. He didnt click the button and couldnt understand why until i opened the map.
When invasions or wars are scheduled, nothing gets an upgrade. This is basically due to not wanting to spend money on an upgrade only to have it downgraded IF they lose. Understandable.
This is not so bad on a server that has multiple towns with high tier upgrades, as you can then go elsewhere while you wait for the upgrade to be installed. But on a new server, this simply doesnt work.
The reason for this post is simply to ask for the boards to be reworked.
Maybe have a cooldown on invasions etc taking place on new servers to allow the towns to get out of the “starter tier” phase.
Allow the workstations to auto-upgrade once completed.
Waiting on company members to install an upgrade means we are at their mercy and so many workstations could be upgraded in the time it takes for company members to come online, which means the town could be earning the money to pay for any new upgrades needed.
There is also the added impact of companies leaving a server without handing it over to anyone.
When this happens, again the towns go into downgrade mode due to taxes not being paid, wars or invasions.
Many of us love doing town boards, they break up a gameplay session and contribute to the town we use most. Please do add this to the list of QoL things that needs looking at.
