Maybe, that slippery slope starts with one convince and begins a never ending amount of requests for more.
I’ve crafted 10k potions and 100k arrows before to level my shit to all 200. Guess what I also spread my potions and arrows thru out every town and outpost. I’m not stupid enough to sell them all in WW or EF. Tbh this is a waste of time and a waste of my 100 cap space for sell&buy order. This is the least efficient way to make money. Even if you can sell ur arrows/ammo at x3 the price in shattered mountain you can only sell 50k arrows at max. You’re wasting ur trading space. If you want to flip prices these are not what you should invest and resell with. The other things that you can flip price are usually sold in WW and EF. And if you’re “actually” farming to make these arrows, pots, and food, yourself then that’s even more a big waste of time to make money. Think about why ppl are buying ur ammo x3 the price in Shattered Mountain cuz what they do there are making way more than u. You can role play and do these market game all u want, but the best money making things in this game will always be sold at the most popular town. Do you think I would sell the 591 gear with nice stats or perks at shattered mountain? Would I sell Void Ore at shattered mountain? Recently I bought 40k pure solvent at 0.03 each. Now the price has jumped to 0.40+. Would I sell them at shattered mountain? Fuck no. I sell them at ww and ef. Lol
A reasonable and logical argument does not make something doom and gloom.

As an owner of a town not in the holy trinity, the change is welcome but wont change much this late in the game on our server as most ppl have their 3 houses already set up. and EF/WW are so far ahead of every other town its pointless to go anywhere else.

That will probably never change, especially considering how so many of the outlying towns resemble shabby trailer park equivalents.

They buy your ammo because it is convenient. They pay for that convenience with the higher price. With these changes, convenience is free. And that is money taken from every trader’s pocket and put into the banks of the companies.

Not everyone wants to make their money flipping. Some people just want to list the stuff they get/create and play… you know… the rest of the game?
You know where the best place to buy those are? Shattered Mountain Usually. Mostly because players are either Azoth Broke, or they just don’t want to take 2-3 trips to haul what they’ve farmed back. I LOVE those kind of deals. You are benefitting from their convenience.
The current market isn’t fun for casual players. No casual has2 hours to run back and forward between multiple places just to play the market for money. On top of all the actual fun they want to have.

If devs intended for people to only trade in Winsward and Everfall they wouldn’t put a worthless trading post in the other zones. So the the link idea is good. It just doesn’t do much to solve the tax revenue advantage. It won’t stop Wins an Ev from being the hubs they are. They will still have the most listings by a mile unless do like a limit per town.
No, my logical argument was “there are and have been many other games with centralized auction houses and people make money flipping items in all of them so this will not prevent people from making money in this game”

This feels like a panic button measure and in my opinion flies in the face of the intended design. Not to mention that it proves people afraid of “wow-ification” right. Might as well make Everfall or WW Aethernum’s capital and drop the charade.
Several people in this thread have given alternatives:
+only link trade from the same factions
+charge extra if buying an item posted somewhere else, be it gold or time.
+deposit the bought item in that city’s storage, to be manually picked up
