Hey everyone. I hope this is the proper category for this, if not I can repost in general discussion.

I was looking at a crafting calculator site to see if it was something useful or not and saw a place where you could manually input trading post prices to help with xp/cost calculations. There was an additional button to a github page where you could run the application and apparently it takes screenshots while you are manually using the trading post and uses the information from them to identify and compile item prices for future calculator use.

On the heels of so much variation with the minimap allowability, I wanted to confirm two things before deciding whether to use these or not:
1.) Is using a crafting calculator which does not link to the game’s API or my account allowed?
2.) Is the below linked “Price Extractor” allowed?

My thought is that it should be since its not really giving you an edge over anyone and just helping consolidate data which I use the same in game mechanics to obtain anyways but I want to be sure. The updates about overwolf addons only mention location and stuff relevant to maps, not other information/data.

Well it does not pull or push any real data into/out of the game so it should be safe to use according to the latest know statement about using minimap mods.

pretty sure taking screenshots and extracting data falls under the PULLS REAL DATA OUT OF THE GAME classification.

It does not. This tool does not require you to login with your game account nor connect through API and any other way to connect to the game code itself. It just does automatically what you can do manually. Same goes with overwolf minimap. Altough it does mark for example minings nodes on the ingame map for you (push data in your way of thinking) in reality it just does what you can do manually my placing a marker with your mouse. Market prices AREN’T here any DATA.
