[Trading Post] Preventing playerbase from listing sales?

Hi everyone, I wish you all a good day.

So, I’ll try to keep this one as short and simple so everyone can get the point, without too much reading.

1: Farm plenty, go to town, list sales.
2: Time runs out, 40% of your items sell, others return.
3: Farm more while items were selling, list sales again.
4: Rinse and repeat…

Now ask yourself, what happens after 2 days of doing this? Or 5 days? All these numbers and examples are arbitrary to paint a picture.

Well, you’ve guessed it right, your stash will be full, eventually, and with stash being full, it doesn’t allow you to list items to sell anymore, and with this new feature at hand, which doesn’t make any sense at all, and totally unnecessary, it also prevents you from using the in-game functions as intended.

You have to drop items on the ground, and then make several runs to the TP and relist them, then pick up items as you do these several runs so they don’t time out, and also drop them at different locations because the ground has a capacity too, that you cannot go over, which also doesn’t make any sense.

TLDR;

1: Farm a lot
2: Store at stash
3: Farm more
4: List at Trading Post
. . . 2 days later (Keep farming to list more)
. . . Time goes, sales return to stash because not sold, stash overfull.
Other items run out too, now way over full.
Dead Stash, items needs to be dropped and picked up to relist, over and over.

With all of this being said, remove the feature of not allowing us to list sales at TP if our stashes are full. That doesn’t bring any abuse to the game.

I understand that we wouldn’t be able to make buy orders if our stash is full, but not selling items at all? Makes no sense, and totally irrelevant feature. The stashes will eventually be full, because items return to your stash after timing out.

I get that they want to prevent us from using sell orders we don’t expect to ever sell as a form of infinite storage space (though it costs money to post it). Unfortunately, they’ve created an untenable situation for some people.

I haven’t been playing in a few days or more. I logged in to see what was happening on the TP. I noticed I’m over 4k LBS overweight in one of my main towns. I forgot I had a huge super cheap silver ingot buy order up and the price of silver ingots crashed on my server while I wasn’t playing, so I bought thousands of ingots. My houses are all overdue on taxes as well so I lost some space from that, I’m not going to pay any of them yet because I’m not playing anyway. If I take all the ingots out of my stash, it’s still slightly overweight, so I couldn’t even post them back on the TP. I also don’t think I would be able to walk to the TP from the stash as I believe after a certain amount of weight you’re just immobile? I guess you mention you can drop them and run back and forth though that seems kind of risky.

I decided I still don’t want to play the game anyway and have no desire to deal with that situation so I just logged back out.

If they want to keep us from using the trade post as an infinite paid temporary storage system, I think a better way of doing it would be to have a weight limit on total sale orders and buy orders, though I think it should be fairly high, just not infinite. They really need to remove the restriction on posting sale orders when overweight though since that just creates a massive headache when trying to deal with an overweight stash. We already have to pay coin to post it in the first place, it’s not like it’s free infinite storage and posting extra items for sale is the best way to actually reduce our stash weight.

Tbh, 650 hours in, I enjoyed the game, but I feel it’s time for me to let go, it’s getting to tedious, too tiring to deal with constant stash issues every day, it feels like work, there’s no entertainment anymore it feels like a chore, and when games feel like that, I let go.

Anyways, thanks for the reply, and thanks to everyone in this community throughout all the posts.
