How long does it take for a deleted character name to become available to a new account?
I created for my son his own Steam account and purchased New World for him. He had a low-level character on my account, that we decided to delete and we’ll create new characters on the fresh start servers.
After I deleted his preferred character name (pretty unique, no concerns there) on my account, how long does it take for that character name be available to another account?

According the official information we have, names within New World are currently global, meaning first come first served and are locked to an account for a short amount of time even after a character is deleted.
That means, it would take a while, for the character name to be released from the original account.

I was hoping it would release after 24 hours.
Sounds like the boy is getting a new character name then.
