are you kidding? I was spending lots of time doing wars, invasions, territory pushes and I never got payed a single penny (even though I was top2 healer in my faction for most of my healing career and we controlled Brightwood and other smaller towns (1 or 2) most of the time). That is the fun part of the game and I love to help out. Grinding mutations or chest runs or whatever is boring af. The deal they got compared to you is so much better.
Trickle-down economics: Why does new world use an economic system that has failed in the real world?
Not tracking your message here. Elaborate?
I do both PvE and PvP, and PvE pays way better. Hands down, without a doubt.
Obviously the incentive is to make lots of gold.
So, you get a team together and you fight for control of that EXTRA revenue.
Nobody playing the game is being denied gold by not controlling a territory.
I’m not even in a company, and I can make 10K a day just selling ore and wood.
I do all my trading post stuff in whatever town my faction does currently control. Might change week to week, but we’re not locked by our town inventory anymore. And with crafting, I stick to whichever town I have a high reputation in to save money on the fees.
They dropped house taxes across the board, so that’s not a problem anymore either.
This is not a problem.
I guess no one argues because there is a reward for going to war and being victorious. But having the profits that windsward and everfall have is simply illogical, there are 1 or 2 wars of 30 min a week and in a week they get an amount of gold that breaks the economy and taxes should simply eliminate or reduce them and that it be distributed among all cities to be used to reinforce cities/forts.
what should of happened, is holding territory add money to the economy, which creates natural inflation. We want the ability for new players to get money and the older players to be able to make more of it,kinda like runescape and alching items.
So what SHOULD of happened is when a company owns a territory, they make so and so cash, that will get distributed to people in the company.
Of course that requires some sort of mechanic to not have alts, maybe those that stay longer n the company get more, etc.
But i have bias. I dont care about wars, territory, etc. I just open world PVP and 3v3 arenas. i want more money that way so i can actually buy and test equipment
The truth is often stranger than fiction.
Have you done any research? I mean a simple google search would inform you of the answer to your question. Like. You aren’t arguing with me. Take it up with the economy experts. Lol
PvP has incentives. putting your name ON A TOWN and OWNING the town by being THE STRONGEST AT PVP. Rewards beyond that are nice, but the system we have no is just silly. As is advocating for it.
If you need rewards in PvP beyond proving your superiority you should try a non-competitive game mode that offers the type of pixel rewards you desire
Poeple complaining about owning territories giving gold dont realize how little time it leaves for making gold. Vod reviews, making rosters, comp breakdowns, war consumes, payout tracking. Id be suprised if most companies leadership had time for more than a couple oprs a day outside of all the war managment thats needed, and thats not getting anyone bis.
Gonna have to disagree with this one. You don’t have to own every single territory. Yet these guys often do. One war a day is not that hard. Additionally I think all of us know the war participants on our server. Many only war log because the amount of gold they have means they can just buy their way through system the rest of us play our way through. I haven’t chatted with them in many servers, but RMT used to be an open secret. Many are like “game is boring theres nothing for me to do I’m BIS in every setup and gold capped”. lol. Even despite this you do see a lot of them outside WW just standing around dueling or in OPR spamming games. This idea that war prep takes SO MUCH time is just simply not true lol
Best Comment lmao
Nah, wars aren’t about having the best players. Mega companies exist because of highly organized people with too much time on their hands. They’re really REALLY good with their organizational skills, don’t get me wrong. But they’re not some all-star PvPers.
New World doesn’t really offer a way (yet) to prove superiority.
Ranked 3v3s might grant that, but in the mean time there’s just better PvP games to play for that fix.
New World chose the mainstream MMO path and it’s showing in player performance. I would love to see what the breakdown is for how many unique players have fully cleared an M10. I bet its quite low. You also see it in OPR when players don’t understand jungling or which objectives to prioritize.
MMO gamers are not typically highly competitive on any front, PvP or PvE.
Something that WoW did really well is unique titles and such for the highest level content in the game. Something intangible and otherwise valueless to show off your accomplishments.
New World needs that but I think AGS is afraid of highlighting the disparity amongst players.
Many only war log
Those are generally mercs with alts on bunch of servers and a completely different discussion.
Even despite this you do see a lot of them outside WW just standing around dueling or in OPR spamming games
Because thats what you need to do to stay good, and those activities dont pay shit.
This idea that war prep takes SO MUCH time is just simply not true lol
Depends on who in the company your talking about. Some poeple may only have 20 minutes going over thier vod and sometimes a couple hours of pushing (which is no where near rewarding without gold from territories). Role vod reviews probably have more like 3-5 hours of out of game work per war. Rostering and networking can take a gov more time than actually spent playing the game. Someones got to buy the 100s of oakflesh/gemstone/honing needed every war and if you want to do it right thats a decent amount of time and effort playing the market for no personal gain. Even stat sheet and comp breakdowns take more time than several m10 runs with no direct ingame reward.
Hilarious AND true.
Nice post +1
If you get to level 60 and just play casually you get 500 gold from bags. Im not really sure how i get them they just show up. I get 2 or 3 a day. So money is kinda weird in new world but its not bad by nature. Just collect from boxes in lvl 60 areas.
On top of that - you get hidden stashes from gathering/mining
Little baggies full of motes and a Gypsum. AKA more gold.
Wait.
This thread isn’t just a troll thread?
You are the only troll here apparently haha
But they do spend it, theoretically?
They buy Trading Post items or crafted goods, which moves money to those players.
Those crafters buy botted goods to make more crafted goods to sell.
RMT bot owners collect that gold and sell it back to the player base so they can continue to buy price-inflated goods from the Trading Post instead of playing the game to make or get those goods themselves.
In every game where you can buy your progress – including straight-up buying good or best gear, like in NW – too much money results in reduced engagement with the game.
I would call it a trickle down economy and i wouldnt be able to call it a ponsei scheme either as much as i would like to say. We are buying and selling items at chaotic prices. Alarmingly low rates for low level crafting materials despite requiring so many to turn them into higher level materials. Rather than being able to set up bulk pricing standards vs price per unit. We pay taxes in a city yes but if even if you scap your junk weapons and armor you can get that money back fairly quickly. And if you were on in day one you would have seen everyone rushing for members. This is because you the trickle down function that people make a mistake on. Because the money doesnt trickle upwards to the top directly from an underling. New world has skipped that step. Essentially the governor may choose to skim off the top or take a huge sum of gold because the money from the market feeds directly to the towns coffers immediatly. And gets distributed down to company members who may or may not forget to collect their share.
