Tuning Orbs for Dungeons was a Bad Idea

I’m just saying that it is by no means the place where grinding has to occur, as you stated. That is blatantly wrong. You can do all of what you just described out in the open world, and in the keyless dungeons as well.

Look guy these people have told us over and over they didn’t build a game to be played they just want us to look at there pretty 3d painting that’s why theirs so much stopping you from doing anything that might be fun

I mean if you are solo dps it could be a hassle. I have a couple friends to play with so just getting the quests to go into them was enough to run each 4 or more times. Besides getting the materials really isn’t too hard if you like grouping up anyway.
Join a company. I’m sure someone would have an orb to help you get in. I mean it’s an MMORPG. You are supposed to multiplayer it. So, make friends. Don’t play solo but want to do group content and expect there to be unlimited people on standby for your needs.
I know a lot of people myself included that like the idea. It’s an older concept but the point is to experience the world and all it has to offer and not just one small piece of it.

Im only talking about the 2 Endgame Dungeons here. Any else are just useless to craft orbs for anyway.

I don’t mind grinding for the tuning orbs in order to get into a dungeon. But the work you need to put into crafting this tuning orb and the reward you get from doing the dungeon is def. not worth it.

You need like 30 hours ingame to craft 1! Genesis tuning orb. (takes much longer as long as portals 55+ are bugged) and the money that goes into this tuning orb is insane. Then you put all the afford into it to finally go into the dungeon with your friends.

The Endgame dungeons are still extremly easy and reward nearly nothing 95% of the items i get from every run gets salvaged instantly and it takes only like half an hour to complete the dungeon.

Some people might like the grind for the tuning orb but in my opinion the afford you need to put into 1 of this orbs is to much in comparison what u get from the dungeon.

nah, 99% grind will be elite 62 zones with outpost rush. forget about dungeon they are useless for gear.

I’ve been saying this since they introduced tuning orbs. It’s just a bad idea all round. It could possibly make sense for the high tier 60 dungeons, but for leveling or introductory 60 dungeons? No way. Those should be easily farmable once you know how to complete them.

This is a hard disagree for me. I love that PvP has such a huge effect on the world. It really rewards you for being the dominant faction and encourages people to participate in PvP.

Recruitment channel. Stop being lazy. And crafting orbs isn’t to hard, run portals. Again, stop being lazy.

I thought initially the tuning orb were a bad idea but it incentivizes higher levels to help lower level dungeons as they need repair parts and it keeps a cyclical economy going. I like it now.

don’t know what are you talking about. Did Amrine, Starstone and Depth over 10 times each. I am tank/dps. Might take a bit longer to find a group as dps but you will still run the dungeon

I agree, requiring azoth staffs/orbs just to redo an expedition is bad design.
Especially when your original azoth staff/orb get consumed on your 1st expedition and you still get quests that require you to enter said expedition!! WTH man seriously lol
So what happens? I resort to spamming LFG with a stupid requirement that one of my groupmates should have the staff or orbs.
If you’re lucky you MIGHT be able to complete your quest that day. If you’re SOL then you try again the next day LOLMAO

very very very good design AGS! :two thumbs up:

You never lose your staff. But orbs are consumed on entry by the first person to enter. So only one orb is used per group.

Still, it’s a stupid mechanic that should have been scrapped long before launch.

Finally I can choose the group without being kicked out because I have the key and the wannabe ESO dungeon runners can’t kick me because I do not have the right set/weapon on me.

Btw ESO is that way ----------->

No they don’t incentivize anything lol They just add an unnecessary friction if I want to do any expedition.

not to mention this literally isn’t happening with higher levels coming back for repair parts as there are better ways to get repair parts

Maybe just maybe they wanted it that way to slow progression. GASP

im not talking about progression. and why would repeating a dungoen cause havoc to progression?

I personally think it was a great idea. We now don’t have bots grinding dungeons and flooding the Trading Post with gear.

You literally said thats were 99% of grind should occur, im sorry that applies to endgame as well as people grind for legendary recipes that provide literally the best gear in the game lol.

Perhaps thats why it exists is so it takes you time to get those drops/recipes for the very best gear.

im not talking about drops, i dont care about drops at like what lvl 25-30? I just care about having fun. The most fun ive had so far was the dungeon with the Lazors. We spent four hours in there just playing around laughing.
