Turn off muskets until you fix or ban ppl

I did 1 OPR today and said “nope”. Refuse to que it until they fix the issue or disable the weapon until a fix is found.

Also agree, BAN people for exploiting. Make the game a healthier place. The kinds of people that do this are the same kinds of people that probably aimbot and will definitely do whatever exploit is discovered next.

Same here. I refuse to pvp while this bug is active and more people are practicing the exploit. I usually run around open world pvp. But this is a big NOPE for me. I haven’t even attempted opr. This is rediculous.

just post it on every discord/reddit you can find until everyone uses it and amazon is forced to do something against it. looks like this is the only way they listen

@Kay disable to Musket so people can play OPR

Make it the tagline.

Don’t forget the people abusing nvidia config settings to hide bushes and such so they have a visibility advantage.

This is explicitly allowed by AGS.

It is but it 100% should not be. I dunno wtf they’re smoking.

Why not? It’s no different from turning down graphics in other games and it’s easy enough for devs to lock these settings. Plenty of competitive games like Dirty Bomb allowed this. It also has trade-offs like not being able to see most AOEs as well as being unusable in certain wars that have the tropical trees as they render like giant green squares like below:

If you dont see why removing all the foliage that is there to help provide some obscuring of LOS while moving across the battlefield is a problem I’m not sure there’s anything i can say to open your eyes to why its a problem.

It should not be allowed. The devs aren’t PVPers though so I’m sure they don’t get why it shouldn’t be either.

The only thing it ‘removes’ is the grass texture which provides no benefit anyway, it doesn’t remove trees and doesn’t remove bushes (although does make them a little bit easier to see through). There’s also the downsides I mentioned before, you can’t see AOEs like grav well or ice storm nor can you use this in certain territories or your enemies will actually have even better protection against you.

I use this because I hate the visual clutter in the game and if I had the option to turn down the visual effects to prevent complete sensory overload then I’d use that instead, but there isn’t, so I don’t. I personally don’t enjoy seeing 100 magical effects popping on my screen inside a 25m x 25m fort.

Can you not see how the game having a mechanic of going prone in the grass being completely ruined by this mod is a bit of an unfair advantage? Especially when the majority of the time you’re taking shots from outside grav well or ice storm range anyway.

But again, this is something that would happen anyway if they gave us the proper options that virtually every other game offers. Imagine an FPS game that forces motion blur and chromatic abberation/bloom on and have no way of turning it off? I get your point about going prone in bushes but it’s honestly something that I almost never see and havent’ really seen since launch. Majority of the time you spot someone in a bush with these settings are when you’re within a distance that you’d have spotted them anyway.

It’s also a partially selfish thing, I know this setting is allowed and I know for a fact other players are using it, so why on earth wouldn’t I use it? You’re knowingly placing yourself at a disadvantage, and I won’t go back to the regular settings unless they give us a way to turn off/lower all the visual effects in the game. There’s not just too many of them, but they’re also very harsh on the eyes unlike other MMOs.

I’m not suggesting you should put yourself back at a disadvantage. They allow it so its fair play to use.

I started out by saying AGS should not allow it. I don’t think they should, but they do.

They should improve the settings options and then stop allowing use of this but that will never happen bc the devs aren’t PVPers so they don’t “get it”.

Woudnt be a case if devs would ban for using exploits like this and all players would know you get long temp ban or perma is its not first case you use exploit.

But we are not sure if they do ban or not. So ppl assume you wont get banned or maybe few days - so they use exploits.

I don’t think they even know about the bug. They only said they are aware of the powder multi-shot, and they disabled the powder shot already, but none said they know about the full auto musket.

Yeah fair enough ultimately I agree with you then. I come from playing FPS games mainly where improving your visibility in every aspect is paramount so it’s not surprising to see so many players using this.
