Claiming forts doesn’t even qualify as win-trading using that strict definition as no fighting is required to win a fort. People can assume that’s whats necessary but that isn’t the rule. The rule is that we stand on the point for a period of time uncontested.
There’s no requirement for opposing factions to contest just as there is no rule saying opposing factions are required to kill each other when flagged doing open world content.
This is the social dynamics of a server and if servers decide to be cooperative that’s their perogative. If other players want to gank constantly in a zerg the solo players they can do that too.
There is no ‘match or contest’ that would qualify fort swapping as win trading. Arena’s would qualify as win trading.
The whole point of the PvP track is to PvP, go figure. By allowing people to afk swap a point it takes any feeling of gratification for participating in proper open-world PVP content (Which is limited at best).
If you’re actually defending this and that it should stay in the game then it’s obvious you don’t give a damn about the long-term longevity of PvP. People complaining about the cap on arenas, which is fair and I think that restriction should be lifted, but how any developer didn’t think of this method of exploiting salt/XP is embarrassing.
Last night every fort we went to was hordes of people waiting for it to swap, as soon as we attempt to engage in PvP (How dare we) you get bombarded with “STOP” “DONT ATTACK” and “LETS FARM” and it’s just embarrassing from a collective of people who claim they want PvP content.
The concept of PVP Exp is so horribly the exact opposite of what players were really asking for when they were asking for arenas.
What we really wanted was ranked.
Doesnt matter if its open world, arena, OPR, war, if youre consistently doing better than other players, your rank should reflect that.
I think theres a huge miscommunication in the works that Ive been mentioning here and there but, with the Roadmap (Leaderboards)… Im inclined to believe that this is specific to dungeons and PvE? I hope Im wrong, but some clarification would really be nice here.
I think a whole lot of people are expecting that to be either some sort of ranked PvP/MMR/ELO or PvP leaderboards and if this is the case the bandaid needs to get ripped off and we need some clarification on the direction of things like this and also cross-server (anything but queueing mostly) even if its far in the future…
People WILL farm, this is an MMORPG after all, isn’t it?
That’s what happen when you timegate the best PVP content of the game. Max daily PVP Exp for 3v3 Arenas? Sure, let’s find another non-fun way to get our rewards anyway.
Get rid of the daily cap from 3v3 and people might stop finding loopholes to get extra exp.
aswell on servers were the popilation is not that big… iam on a map without any covenant area so for me as yellow its not even possible to do missions cause if u yellow u get farmed… ofc. i can switch but i think thats not intended. but green and violett running togehter pvp missions … pretty nice way
Lot of mental gymnastics to try and justify abusing a broken system to obtain rewards and win trading. Dont worry. AGS doesnt have the balls to ban you anyways. Just go find the next dupe, keep ruining servers with shell company take overs, and keep finding ways to get all the rewards in one day. AGS wont have to ban you when there are 1k people left playing.
The easiest way is to simply make controlling a fort give rewards over time to anyone who has been involved in the acquisition of a fort within x amount of time (say, 1 week), and this bonus only is active while your faction controls it, and accumulates as time passes (exponentially perhaps). So then, there’s still incentive to keep taking the fort, but there is no value to doing it intentionally (and you want to be the one controlling it in the end, and/or be a recent participant in taking it).
If the team is listening, removing cap on 3v3 arenas can be a good idea as some other suggested. What is the worst thing that can happen if you do it? People actually play the game and spam arenas? If you are capping it to prevent people consuming content before next “big thing” is available this will cripple player base again. I want to understand why are you limiting gains from what people enjoys to do. The forts as they are right now is pretty fun actually. I had the biggest open world pvp fight in a long while today in two forts. This speedy progress may not be a planned improvement but it is an improvement in terms of people coming together and fighting as expected in an mmorpg game.
If you truly are listening, then please hear this. Limiting PvP’ers will only limit the growth of your PvP Player Base. It’s really that simple. We’re finally seeing some (albeit a relatively small percentage) PvP’ers return to the game. We lost so many people this past Fall, many of which were PvP’ers. The time is ripe to rebuild this portion of the community. Limiting rewards to game time & win only. This is going to have a reflux which will only hamper the serious potential for regrowth of our PvP Community. I truly hope you’re listening. Everyone should be getting rewards and nobody should be restrained or deterred from binging your product. Good Luck, hope you folks figure this out quickly.
