Am I the only one that feels like we been here before. With this hype bringing the game two steps forward only to have them take one step back by letting it fade away instead of hitting when the iron is hot. I have only been playing on the PTR same as everyone I know. No one wants to come back to a new server that people can bring toons that spent time on a server with hacks dups and year of bot gold to compete with.
As it stands right now we are 15 strong all just playing ptr or conan 3.0 till fresh start, but adding these new anyone can transfer servers was such a cock tease that 2 players gave up on the wait and just wont be playing cuz they feel like nothing has changed with AGS.
Just what I see, really sucks when you are the person trying to pull your full guild back only to have the hype burn low.
AGS can’t pick when the iron is hot. They can only deliver on their plans in a timely manner and make sure they execute those plans. It isn’t there fault the hype train started blowing it’s horn a full month early. BS was always going to be end of October. We’ve known that since they said in August that the next big update would be a two month development cycle.
Fresh start servers was not even a request with any traction until two weeks ago. There is NO reason to release fresh start servers until they can launch the new leveling experience.
They need to fix the territory system before making fresh start servers. It’s not worth making fresh start servers until the system gets resolved. There’s no reason companies should be making millions of gold per week.
I do agree with this. Again I’m good with waiting the hype would of been the same now as it would be in 6 months when they are ready. Just felt like a bait and switch.
Wow man… when people make dumb comments like this it just looks like they’re afraid that a good point is being made against them and they’re desperate to invalidate them in some way before people notice…
Look… I get where you’re coming from and that would be frustrating. But sonikat’s points were all valid. No point in releasing fresh servers before the revamped level experience. The October update will be released next month and then I expect the new servers will be sometime after that. Anyone getting upset and quitting the game because they aren’t getting what they want when they want it probably needs to spend some time doing some personal reflection…
And whether or not the iron is hot or not depends a lot on if the community receives “the iron” well or not. In that way AGS does not have 100% control. They did start the hype train pretty early, you’re not wrong, but in their defense it seems they did attempt to spread out the info between the two months to try to keep it going. Unfortunately the rest of the info they tried to save was already out on YouTube (heartrunes).
Confirming it is being developed doesn’t mean it it’s ready to go live. They have a PTR system and they literally put it on PTR shortly after confirming it. I’m not sure what exactly you expect but its impractical and naive.
No way, I’d much rather wait until the full 1-60 leveling experience has been revamped before doing another fresh start. It would be a waste to do fresh starts now when the process is not even half done.
So you and the people you know dont play the game anymore. Why should AGS put effort into making you happy?
I mean, lets be honest. Even when “Fresh Start Server” exists, it will only be special for the first 1-2 Weeks.
Because not only new player will start a character there, a lot of people who actually play that game will start there too. So with the experience of the game they will be Lvl 60 after 3 Days and be far ahead and dominate the server as they do now.
in my opinion, there will be absolutely no difference between the “fresh start servers” and the old ones. Yeah, maybe no dupes again, but that wont change anything. the people with experience will make their money fast and then we have the same again.
