They can’t make it too rewarding or else OPR will be unbearable for people who actually prefer fun over “progress”… They last thing we want to do is make afk-pve farming in OPR the best way to level your great.
But for people who want to do mostly PvP, now at least we can (hopefully) increase expertise and get SOME umbral shards from doing the content we want to do.
I have all 595-600 gear that is best pvp perks. I am stuck at m3 because im getting down scaled so hard.
I have to get my cheeks clapped for 1.5 hours every m3 to get 30 ish umbral. I can cast gypsum for 15ish umbral. Its terrible and im being punished for having top gear just below 600.
With this new change I can go into OPR and have fun and get 100 umbral. The 50-100 umbral per game will get my gear and weapons up quicker than low lvl mutations and once I am scaled up I can go back to the mutations.
The high level mutations should definitely reward higher than OPR. OPR is a great way to let people get over that first hump of Gear score while also drastically increasing server PVP.
The shards awarded from opr isn’t enough to change the game and make it better it’s such a little amount you would have to do over 50 matches to equal 1 9th level mutation run which takes about 50 mins. Not worth it and way to late anyways considering some good games that won’t disappoint are around the corner.
why there is not other activity to get umbral shard in open world?
seem people like instance multiplayer activities or maybe they left because instanced activiies are boring.
its great. i can now upgrade my pvp gear up to 600 for the perks without any issues or burning 2 weeks worth of personal mutation orbs to get one item from 590-600
there is no reason to complain about this…yet
if they put a cap on it like 4 umbral drops a day then there will be a problem.
Not really man… cause when you compare other games like ff14 tomes, you can either do a daily dungeon roulette or a pvp match which awards the same amount. In the case with new world you have mutated dungeons which award more the higher you go and opr which rewards the same amount and requires way more time to farm. Because of time consumption is why I say they should increase the amount to at least 150 per win and 75 per loss to make it more fair in comparison to higher level mutation and time put in. Cause the opr route is much longer and takes just as much effort if you wanna win.
You got unlimited OPR, but you have to either use your CD or pay big $$ for Mutations. Plus, gear is only really needed in mutations, so it’s a decent amount to get in OPR.
with ff14 do those dungeon runs take an orb you have to farm for hours to get? you’re only thinking about the dungeon runtime and not what it takes to even get there. you are then comparing it to a M9 dungeon which is no walk in the park either.
100x is alot , that should change to be 50 for winer 25 for loser team , u dont pay gold for repair or for enter inside , also u can get potion and few buff from inside of opr shop , u don’t even need pay anything , i think they should add orb for enter in opr as well , why just pve player should pay gold to enjoy thier content? Is not fair system in my opinion , im not pve player , but i have many casual pve friend which one leave the game cuz of orb.
Are you paying a fee (Tuning Orb/Mutation Orb) to enter OPR? No. Its fine, in fact its a bit too generous in my opinion.
Again, are you paying a fee to enter OPR? Is there now a tuning orb needed to enter OPR? If so, that must’ve not been mentioned in the PTR notes, but I would be fine with that, given these tuning orbs have a similar time gate as the ones needed for expeditions and mutations. Otherwise its not fair due to how infinitely spammable OPR is. Time doesn’t matter in this equation, its the resource and coin cost associated with expeditions and mutations.
It’s a ridiculous amount, really, when you consider you don’t do anything for OPR. Plus you’ll have gypsum upgrades that will start giving you 15+ in short order.
This change really makes it so the easier method to level gear - at least early on - is going to be through OPR rather than mutated dungeons. If you’re higher gearscore, then successfully doing a high mutated dungeon will reward you with more shards. But 1 OPR win will get a piece of gear to 610.
This is a fantastic reward for OPR. It’s intended for players with low GS to have a way to build up, not to get 625. It might even be too generous, but since the requirements scale up so hard I think it’s fine. 1 win basically gets you a 610 item.
