I didn’t say they were great options, but they are options.
Honestly, there’s a lot to do in this world, I don’t find that the grind is any worse with shards than it was before. Granted, this is more tied to my playstyle, as I prefer to enjoy the world than focus entirely on reaching some abstract BIS top level anyways.
people that like to focus pvp, or just farming and crafting are naturally pissed that the new content does absolutly nothing/reduces their enjoyment. its a natrual response to feeling left out.
especially the later since they were essentially confirmed they didn’t have to participate in the expertise system but got baited with a not expertise system aka umbrals.
I don’t see that as toxic at all. Said another way, he was essentially saying, “I encourage you to seek your enjoyment with something that makes you happy. If this game doesn’t make you happy, perhaps you can find happiness elsewhere.” Just because someone says something that makes you frown doesn’t mean that the response was toxic.
It may not be toxic, but it’s kind of a worthless comment. People coming to a forum to discuss a system they don’t like, don’t want to be told “deal with it or leave” (which is essentially what it amounts to). They come here because they hope that by providing the feedback that the system is not to their liking that the developers will see this and potentially adjust the system.
IMHO if you are going to post in a thread where you may not agree with the topic, it’s best to say why don’t you agree and provide the reasoning. “Find another game” is just pointless.
At some point they will come out with PVP arena system I would believe.
Really, this game wasn’t ready for release. It’s getting closer with every patch upgrade, still a few months away, until really where people would like it. I’m assuming there was a lot of pressure to release the game. While been developing it for a few years, they did greatly change a lot of the core game due to player feedback.
thats not adressing the issue.
While arena will take time, for sure - they could also fix the given system by creating a pvp sidepath to earn umbral shards.
In their gypsum system they designed it - there is an outpost reward, so at least you can get 1 upgrade from pvp (which still is a joke, compared to the pve system - why no gypsum cast for wars? why not cast for invasion event?)
opr and wars are the only real pvp content - just add umbrals there and you dont cut out a majority of pvp players that will not or cant grind dungeons.
before arenas they need server merged opr… you rarely find games on high pop server nowadays, arena will have the same issue
No dude. Yes MMOs are grindy. But hes right that currently the game is forcing instanced dungeons for advancement. The game can be grindy and still provide viable ways of progression through all forms of content. There are sometimes you need to provide feedback to improve the game. This is not a find a different game moment.
I think umbra shards are good for the game but the way to get them is whats wrong, OPR rewards are so worthless now compared to just waiting a week for your mutation orbs.
Even the rewards from dungeons are messed up on higher tier mutation level’s, in 2 week’s people with dungeon groups can do 10 level 9 mutation tier runs and get 40.000 umbra shards, once you pass the minimum required Gear Score for a dungeon run you get increased damage, so even level 9 mutation run will be easy.
It’s such a messed up system with the rewards for higher tier mutation level’s, it just promotes not playing the game until the cooldown is up, I don’t understand why the rewards increases so much on higher tier’s and we can’t even spam lower tier mutation runs to get way less shards.
This is the oddest thing about this game. Why do people find it an issue, to be behind others? You’re ALWAYS gonna be behind others.
Hell, the only thing that it could make a difference, doesn’t even make a difference. I’m speaking of PvP…you’re gearscore scales to your opponents GS.
That’s because they are free to choose time and terms of “grinding other things” rather than having to pay to enter the dungeon, that is after having to link required build and gear.
I don’t play games to be vetted by some sweaty players in order to have fun.
