What is your character name in New World: Cognition
What server/world did you experience your issue on: Liliput
Describe the issue you are experiencing: Unable to install Cut amber gem into new Great Axe
Is this a bug or an exploit: Bug
(if a bug) How did the issue effect your gameplay: I’m unable to add an Amber gem to a GA I just purchased. I have numerous other GAs I’ve installed the same gem into, not sure what makes this one different. "Gem is not compatible with that item"
(if a bug) Were you able to recover from the issue: No
(if a bug) Please include a screenshot or video of the issue that you have experienced:
What are the steps to reproduce the issue as you experienced: It’s hard to say what property of the GA is causing this. I noticed other weapons, like a hatchet, where I’m unable to use this gem as well.
Am I missing something obvious here? I’m unable find anything about this in the tooltips…*
Are you trying to add it from a stack of multiple gems? I had a problem doing that. Put all the gems, except one, in your storage. Then take that single gem and try to add it. That should work.
I wish it were that simple. I was attempting this with a stack of one, from my inventory (not bank). I was able to socket other weapons during my testing, but noticed another GA and Hatchet that was giving me the same message.
Assume you’re trying to use it with the void gauntlet with main focus? Since the fire gem is all you can use with this i’d say go for int for more damage but if you’re using LS then I have bad news for you.
I hope it didn’t empty your pockets but at least you have a gem ready and something was learned from the forum. Ping me a message when u find the god axe for that gem
I dropped 3k on it… Really was looking for the right stats + enchanted, a temp weapon to hold me over. Fortunately I have more gold to draw from but it’s a damn shame. I love the faction GA perks but I suspect a 597-600 GS with enchanted and crit chance will be ABSURD in price considering i’ve seen worse GAs for 25k+
Thank you for your help, I appreciate it. It could have been much worse all in all.
