I WAS ORIGINALLY SYNDICATE FACTION AND PREVIOUSLY SWAPPED. TODAY I SWAPPED BACK TO SYNDICATE AND AM STUCK AT THE “SYNDICATE ADVANCEMENT: TRIAL OF THE SCRIVENER” QUEST. THE NPC IN BRIGHTWOOD WILL NOT GIVE ME THE QUEST AT ALL. THERE IS A YELLOW QUEST BANNER IN BRIGHTWOOD BUT THE NPC WILL NOT GIVE ME THE QUEST. I DID COMPELETE THE ADEPT QUESTLINE FROM EVERFALL. SEE SCREENSHOTS BELOW -

Also, before someone asks, the Syndicate faction rep was changed from “Scrivener Krockles” to the new rep “Xiaoling Biyu” a while ago - he is in the same spot and is the correct NPC for faction missions in Brightwood.
Hello @Nrcna I’m sorry to hear you are unable to advance on your faction after transferring back and thank you for letting us know!
In this case, I’d recommend to please contact AGS Customer Support in order for them to take a look on this issue.

I submitted a ticket and am waiting for a response. I will update this thread when I have more info so others can see the resolution.

Same here ! I got back to original faction with a all my guild after the recent update and no one is able to advance faction rank. We can’t craft expedition keys anymore because of the Asmodeum Chisels, this is really game breaking and it’s penalizing a lot of players as I write this. Please look into it and apply a fix ASAP !!

bump! THIS IS SERIOUS !! We can’t craft our expedition keys since this week’s update.
SERIOUS issue here. Same experience, cannot progress due to Trial of Scriviner. We NEED this fixed so we can craft our Expedition and Arena keys. PLEASE ADDRESS THIS!

For everyone having this bug, feel free to report it in [Megathread] New World 1.2.1 Update Bug Reporting as CM Luxendra is collecting those. Please make sure you use template below.
How to Submit a Bug Report in forums:
- Character Name
- Issue that occurred
- Time and Date
- World/Server
- Location where issue occurred
- Any steps that can be taken to reproduce the issue
You can also report a bug in-game:
- Log into the game and load in.
- Press “Esc,” click “Game Menu,” and then click “Submit Feedback.”
- Provide a description of the bug, rate your experience, and then click “Submit.”

Same problem, ticket Submitted but no response.
There doesn’t seem to be any work around and if its not fixed before the next patch, the End Game content is off limits…

Are there any updates at all on this? @Luxendra @Shadow_Fox or anyone?
Multiple posts report this same issue and there is ZERO communication back.
The questlines for people who switched back to their original faction are obviously broken, it can’t be that hard to fix. Please devote some resources to this because anyone impacted by this bug is unable to make keys. If you seriously go forward with the mutated dungeons while intentionally excluding some of the community from being able to participate it’s really bad form, don’t you think?
