Unable to establish connection with the server

I’ve had similar issues to many here. 3.3k views of this thread alone indicates that it’s a common problem.

I played 37 hours from launch until Thursday night (AP SE time). When the new patch was rolled out on the Friday morning, I started getting the unable to connect error and haven’t been able to log in to any character on any server in any region.

I’ve tried all of the officially recommended fixes, flushed DNS, tried VPN, tried Cloudfare and even reinstalled windows (desperate). I’ve tried on two different PCs using broadband connection and mobile phone hotspot (not the ISP it seems).

I finally waited online for a webchat from support on Sunday. Three hours later… I had a good experience with a customer service rep, but unfortunately no resolution. I was handed off to the devs with a support ticket that will take ā€œ3-5 business daysā€ for a response.

Never had a problem with an online service, software or game. Never had an ISP issue. Had 100% uptime in New World until the latest patch. Pretty sure it’s not a problem at my end and from the looks of things I’m not alone.

Fingers crossed the devs get back to me with a solution before the weekend. I’ll keep people posted.

Try to disable your IPv6 directly on ur box! it’s work for me

Good news (at least for me).

The new patch seems to have fixed the connection issues I have been experiencing.

Hey I did what you recommended, then restarted my computer and router/modem and was able to get into the game first try. Now the real test is to see if it will stay working.

Second try after changing the dns brought the connection failure again :-(. That is why i deleted my previous post.

So i got in like i said and had to leave. Got afk disconnected but I just clicked play again without quitting the game at all and was able to log in again and have been playing for a solid hour or so.

Same - had one quick session then the next login resulted in the dreaded unable to connect.

Back to square one.

Contacted customer service (web chat) again this afternoon. It’s been 4 days since my ticket was submitted and still no review by the devs. Customer service rep suggested:

ā€œI request you wait for couple more daysā€

Starting to get frustrated. This issue has been going for 7 days and counting…

Day 5 (of 3-5) and still no response.

Spoke with a new customer support again via webchat and there has yet to be a review by the devs.

New customer service agent has said that there is no guarantee that the ticket will be reviewed today despite the previous customer service agent saying:

[name removed]: we just have a maximum wait time of 5 days
[name removed]: cant tell you exactly when it will happen
[name removed]: but im sure before 5 days

New customer service agent also said that there are no refunds from Amazon and no refunds after 2 hours played (if purchased on Steam) despite Amazon Games being unable to provide me with the product I purchased.

I was also told that I couldn’t escalate the matter to a higher level. All complaints had to go through the same customer service agents.

Lessons learned:

  1. Customer agents don’t always tell you the truth or stick to the script
  2. Amazon Games are out of their depth and unable to handle the launch of a new game (not really a new lesson)
  3. It’s ok to sell someone a product then take it away from them without repercussions

Having the same problem, i`ve been using cloudflare warp, but, while it let me play New World, it also give me problems with others softwares, it wold be nice to not have to use warp.
Also, ive been through the game logs, and i feel that, the server is recusing some IPs, for no apperently reason.

Those logs are what I sent to the devs with my ticket. My uneducated guess is that this is part of the anti-cheat protection. Interesting to see if/what they come back with.

Hey guys, in my case i found the solution for the connection failure. My ISP delivers only IPv6 adresses for internet connection. New World has in my opinion trouble with IPv6 adresses, so in my case i had to use the DS-Lite mode with my router to get a IPv4 connection. Maybe you guys google DS-Lite mode for your specific router and find out, if you have that mode and how to activate it. I hope this is the final solution and maybe the devs will implement a IPv6 connection for New World in the future.

This looks exactly like what I’m getting as well. I’m hoping they will have a fix for this soon. Got this game in Jan of 2020 and been looking forward to it.

Interesting customer service chat today (day 6 of 5):

[name removed] : I see that you were not able to log into the servers: ā€œUnable to connect to serverā€ error once the queue ends. The information has been passed on to the development team and they are looking onto this . Though the fix will be available on the forums once out, however I have escalated the ticket

[Me] : You say the ā€œfix will be available on the forumsā€ - does this mean that there is a patch type fix coming?

[name removed] : Fix as in, the report if the issue has been fixed with additional troubleshooting steps

I’m not quite sure what that means. I wish they would come out and definitively state that they are working on the problem. Another full week has gone by and we still haven’t been able to play.

Finally received a response to my ticket.

They requested more log files. I’ve already provided log files in the past, but ok. Attached 26 log files and off we go…

Interesting to see how long the next response takes (this one took 6 days).
