Same issue. 162/210 items in house. Can’t place more and don’t pick anything up. That’s how it went from 164/210 to 162/210 as I can’t put anything back.

Pretty sure it started with the patch on 4/25 as I’d recently placed new items in the house. (thanks for the rabbits chest)

Turns out mine was the taxes due notice. Not taxes overdue but with the coming due count down. Paid. Cleared the notice. Could place items. Learned something new.

I am not, but I am also unsure what caused it as some bugs seem to dissapear the day after. What caused it to begin with… no idea. If it is intentional to be unable to place furniture/trophies when taxes is due that might have been it.
