I pre-purchased with the intent to try the game and then gauge weather or not to keep it but, if I am going to spend 6 hours minimum, just in queue, then there is no way that Steam will allow me to make a claim on return due to the fact that I spent more than 2 hours “in game” even if it was in the game queue.
This seems like horrible business practice and the perfect storm to scam people out of their money to boost game numbers and sales.
Is there an ETA as to when there will be either larger capacity for current servers or increased servers to permit play? Clearly there’s preferential treatment for those who stream your game as they are having zero issue connecting and hosting via Twitch so people can collect drops; I don’t just want to watch others play. I would like to experience this world for myself, please.
Very few servers have queue’s right now, at least the US ones and you didn’t mention where you’re trying to play from. I’ve seen several people suggest writing to steam to request a refund even though they are past the 2 hours. That would be my only suggestion, beyond trying a different server with no queue.
It’s not just frustrating; it’s impossible to play.
I mean, I guess, I will need to give it a week before I attempt but, that does mean that those who are able to play will have an upper hand as they will have scaled ahead with the time they were allotted.
It seems great from the viewpoint of the Streamers but, I would love to make up my own mind rather than staring at someone else’s game.
I am in the same position as the rest of us qeue andys, and hopefully they get it fixed before the weekend, all I can do is wait on my 3h queue time into Barri and play another game while I wait
I, unfortunately, can’t - I work night shifts and start shift in about 2 hours so no real option to just “queue and wait” also, Steam doesn’t care if you play or game for 2 hours - as soon as you have 2 hours of “time in game” they will no longer consider a refund.
… so, what you are saying, is that if I want an EU server with no waiting time I should be playing in a server that is “off line”… that does seem like an idea, not a practical one but, definitely worth noting.
I’m guessing the EU Frankfort servers are down for maintenance. I know Steams policy, but yesterday people were saying that they would still refund beyond the two hours because it’s right now unplayable for some people. You’d just have to email them and explain.
