You cant slot elemental damage gem if there is Chain perk with another element already, only same element: amber gem on weapon with chain nature only or without chain perk,

Thanks for the info. Where did you find that information? Maybe the bug is not telling the player that’s the case.

I got that from previous tests. I agree it should be noted somewhere.

Sounds like a bug to me, or as Silmaril said, should be noted on the weapon and/or gem. Same thing happens to me with a Fire Staff.

This is happening to me with weapons without any chain affix. Somehow, INT gems can go in the slot but not amber. I have an Ice Gauntlet with +12% dmg to ancients and +15% empower on crit as affixes and can’t socket amber. It’s hard enough to dmg as a healer, trying to figure this out is pretty frustrating.

I currently have 2 hatchets in my inventory that have all empty gem slot. The same damage gem is not necessarily a thing. Even without selecting a gem, just hovering over the weapon the attach gem to slot selector on the weapon menu is grayed out. Meaning it has an open slot but no gem is able to be selected. You cannot see that info in the marketplace, only that it has an open green slot. Annoying.

So I just made a spear yielding a gemslot to put an amber in it. Now it seems that… I can’t add the gem? Can anyone verify if this is attached to elemental damage? Or can anyone verify if you have successfully put an amber into a weapon with elemental damage perks?

I don’t want to make another spear and have to salvage for 50 cents…

Nowhere I’ve seen at least has said wether it’s a bug or intended but the perk does prevent gems

+1 should be noted somewhere, I figured it out by myself, but I see the question frequently being asked.

It was very costly to discover, that I cannot slot amber gem into hatchet :frowning:
