You do 800 dmg as a bow in light to a heavy armor user? Well if he have a plate armor ( high phy defence low elemental) he is basically your counter if you don’t use stone which converts 50% of your dmg to elemental. It’s also a question of his gear score and perks on gear compared to yours.
But still you should be able to kite him pretty easy if you play bow/rapier it will just take longer. Unless his gear is pretty much bis while yours is kinda bad and you can’t play your own class very well.
heavy can catch light armor just need to know how to pvp I’m full heavy at the moment it takes some running a light builds a bit to kill me but only 3 shots to kill them. you need to know what moves counter what and when its bet to use the abilities. if you cant do this you will always lose.
Heavy’s can catch light, especially if using a rapier/great axe. What’s primarily making PVP difficult is all the musket aimbotters. I watched one cheater shoot 4 guys running 150M+ and not miss a single shot! Despite them running, dodging and using specials that grant speed boosts. It’s ruining OPR and wars, heck even open world PVP. The current anti cheat is terrible.
I can jump with bow, dash with rapier than dodge roll (change weapons in the end to mitigate the slow) and you say you have enough movement speed to catch me? You would be first to do that lol.
Use a GA with the dash ability and Blood Lust and you catch them pretty damn quickly. It’s gotten me a fair few kills in OPR today alone. It’s perfectly possible. Heavy users don’t need any more speed, light armours should have movement speed. It helps offset the additional protection.
great axe is the best for this but even hatched can stop this
great axe alone has
Bloodlust
Charge
Reap
gravity well ( after they use Fleche )
I personally use Great Axe and war hammer for this and once they are in the will I’m using my stuns and just ground pound. there is one player on our server I cant beat yet as he is just really skilled but he even admits if he makes a mistake its all over for him.
So the game is working as intended?
Stop trying to standardise all classes.
If you think a heavy armor user should have the same mobility as someone in light or medium armor and beat single target damage classes like rapier when using cleave classes, you’re delusional.
That’s like me saying as a healer I should be able do the same damage as a DPS player while healing.
Personal Opinion:
The easiest way to start balancing everything is to remove the armor types, leave them all with medium armor rating and light dodge.
Then add a core mechanic to the game that works like GA’s Bloodlust (but less powerful), which increases movement speed when an enemy is in front of you to prevent people running straight for hours while eating food.
I think it will be much easier to balance the game.
