After 800h+ I decided to take a break. I simply refuse to grind GS to get back to the point where I am today (still I think this is needed just wrong implementation - they should have done this change with adding new content). But the main reason for the break is other games came out that I want to try.
But I’m not unhappy with NW. I would say 800h worth is pretty good value. I had some fun in this game exploring, gathering/crafting and pvping.
I still think apart from dupes/constant closing of market and first 2 weeks queues this was a solid release. This game had gameplay 1-60 PLUS lots of endgame content right from release. For me the game ran smooth from day 1 and I hardly noticed any gamebreaking bugs. Having played mmos since UO I can assure you there have been mmos released in faaaar worse state.
The big problems came in how AGS handled the game after release imo where the patches constantly broke stuff and introduced new bugs.
I personally think that is due to inexperience. It is one thing to code pre release where you can accept you break some stuff when implementing something because when the new feature works you can go back and fix those bugs… but after release I bet you get stressed out when players cry for imidiate fixes and you see playercount dropping fast (which most likely happens in ALL games because players find out this was not their cup of tea… I have lots of SP games I only played for a few hours).
This probably led to rushed patches in the beginning. I believe with PTR and experience the future patching will be more solid.
I’m sure I will be back later on when the burnout fades and hopefully we once again have the option to server transfer or they did server merges.
The time gate equates to about 90 days to raise up to 600gs.
If I speculate I’ll be banned off these forums, but I think it’s safe to say this is not a coincidence.
Investor satisfaction is an important part of being a publicly traded company, so lets try and understand this from Amazon’s point of view. Amazon is a meek 1.6 trillion dollar individual. My sympathies for what it must do to survive!
I’ll never understand how people can put 12 hours a day, every day, for months, towards a single game. I can’t even do my absolute favorite things for 12 hours a day.
There are so many ways to have fun with what you said but I will resist the temptation.
And just agree with you, it is surprising how much some people can play any game. Even when I thought I was playing a lot, always some playing so much more.
I focused on crafting and pvp and grinded for voidbend set. So my equipped armour GS is 600 but watermark 530ish… So far i only dropped like 2 rings and 1 amulet and 0 earring so jewel WM is like 500…
My jewelcrafting is 200 mt equipped jewels are like 580ish…
So I have to grind alot to get the stats i have today after this progression nerf…
WAIT WAIT WAIT WTF…
You have 800 hours and don’t have a 600GS? What have you been doing?
I’m at like 740h and just took up crafting cause of all the people saying how incredibly hard crating is. It wasn’t, it’s laughably easy, even after the change.
Its not 800h played. I stay in menu between sessions so thats why so many hours but I admit I played alot aswell. Play instead of tv and play late nights instead of sleep and played too much during weekends in the beginning
But I have a good job, train 2-3 times per week and have shared custody of my child (so when child is not here I can play alot). So it is possible to have a rl but still log many hours
Another brainy post by a someone that works in new world.
‘Hey I got a lung surgery and I have to go weekly to get water drained from my lungs with a long needle, but at least I lived even though I was there for an apendix.’
That’s how you sound with your 800+ hours of moneys worth.
Your time is worthless, some of us though value it highly so if you are going, just GO.
Nah,
just wanted to point out you can have a job and family (no whife though) and still log some hours. If you have gf/whife though it can be tough because they are the real time sinks
