Take put pve and you will lose 60% players., not everyone like pvping in game, pvp balance and pve balance supose to be 2 diferent things.
pve balance doesnt need to be seperate for the players, just simply tune the mobs. i never said anything about taking away pve…
Lol. Really. Mutations? I have gear sets specifically for those precisely to min/max them.
awesome! but they are not necessary since the scaling for mutators is mostly gearscore based you can clear them in greens!
having the gear to make them easier is always a bonus!
Same could be said of min/max’ing PVP gear., or indeed, any gear - it’s not necessary but it makes things easier hence people min/max in both.
Combat should have always been somewhat balanced around 1v1, and it was until they removed melee stagger. When the basis of your combat is solid, scaling up numbers becomes a lot easier.
They abandoned that ideal because MMO players categorically flounder at individual levels in competitive environments, and it’s had major repercussions on the game ever since.

PvE with anything but heavy armor and strength weapons is a pita. While it’s not impossible, it’s also not fun. Why is that? Because many of the int/dex weapon abilities are focused around balancing PvP.
For example, in PvE, there often isn’t enough room to use light armor dodge effectively, while in PvP it’s a core skill. And another example is the rapier, which is all but useless in PvE but shines in PvP.
The problem is that, currently, New World kind of sags in the middle between PvE and PvP. The PvE is too limited and there’s not enough to keep anyone but the most casual player amused for more than a couple of months, and the PvP is underdeveloped and unrewarding. The only complete system in the game is crafting, but that should complements a player’s experience, rather than be the core activity.

Only argument I would have to say is that OP is right. Bleed on rapier balanced in PvP, lackluster in PvE? Make all NPC’s globally be xx% weaker to bleeds.
Spear is strong and musket is weak in PvE? Make all NPC’s globally xx% weaker to Muskets.
Lifesteal is too weak in PvE and strong in PvP? Leech xx% more from NPC’s.
Also, the only way min/maxing would be required in PvE is if they unlocked mutation levels for an infinite grind. Ward gear would be essential and so would BiS weapons with Bane perks.
Yep, running M10s smoothly requires warded/bane gear, correct gems, etc.
Possible to do without all that but garbage experience for everyone.
I run it with 4/5 conq’s as a tank with no wards and a voidbent chest. Lol. Still goes smoothe, but anything higher, oh Lord.
They should come out with m10+1, m10 +2 etc.
And actually scale mobs to be harder minimally to max out gear wise at 10+10 or so. Without coordination and ward gear m10+10 should be impossible.
Bonus 1k shards per + level.
why does matter in this game? if it takes 1 less swing to kill you in PvP with my life staff combo because I got buffed in PvE… how does this matter?
Yep I’m tank too. I run 4/5 warded gear and it makes it less stressful for healer.
If medium or light DPS not in warded gear it is a bad experience because healer has to work twice as hard.
Why have I been working on getting better pvp gear if pvp is just going to be normalized? How about they have an arena queue for people that want to use their own gear, and another one for people who want loaner gear?
Not that I really agree with the OP but I play bow in all dungeons just because thats what I play. IDGAF what weaknesses are. Im not running hammer and great axe just because of some arbitrary crap. Lucky for me bow is good againts corruption I guess. In any case I play light and most of the time find the space to dodge. Although I was ADS on Cilla and dodged right off the platform a time or two ![]()
Also I have a nutty tank that actually tanks with Rapier. No sword and shield. I could never do that but he is good at it.
Yet there are people who pay 100k for one major trophy for 1% damage increase. Min/max isnt required because the devs made it not required. However, I think the intention was to tune things so they were. They didnt make all those bane/ward armor sets for nothing. I think they expected people to have to have them and grind each one up to deal with mutations so the grind took longer.
I run Hatchet off hand in every m10 mainly because berzerk for CC break and death defy when I fuck up and Regen on berzerk.
I do die here and there but I run 0 ward gear and do fine as a DPS. Maybe the healer is spam healing the fuck outta me. Lol. I’ll have to ask next time.
I have ward gear it’s just not 625.
I cannot run light without the gems. Maybe thats just my skill but I cant.
