that sounds legit, also the pvp gear ive seen so far has reduced damage from criticals. Thats def a nice feature for pvp’ers
I mean, there’s some layers to this. If PvP’ers that can’t or don’t want to participate in war had some sort of role to play in the larger game loop, income would naturally come.
My personal preferred solution is trade runs: Trade Runs (Suggestion)
Good job missing the entire point of the post and ignoring where I have stated over and over there is a difference between what I do, which is generating wealth, and what you need to do, which is pay repair costs.
I state many, many times that you can easily cover the basics that are NEEDED to play the game by passively playing.
I understand reading comprehension is hard but you just stopped to type that I did a great job of missing a point by saying I don’t understand something I wrote an entire paragraph to explain. I don’t know fam, great job missing the point?
Or, maybe the TL;DR was “Not everyone needs to have a ton of money, there is a difference between being able to play the game and accumulating wealth.”
IDK maybe I pointed that out once or twice in this thread…
Sure, but there are plenty of people who also are able to follow the markets pretty easily. I sit in a discord with a bunch of dudes all day who tell me what to watch out for and stuff.
I’m 60 and have been since day 8 (somewhere in there) of game release. I have several skills at 200 including Armoring with Voidbent Armor crafted. I’ve attached proof of this below. You’re missing literally every possible point that matters but let’s address the 4 random things you decided to say:
Everything is valuable
Nothing in this game is valuable because no one has any gold. If people had gold to spend, virtually everything would gain value in relation to labor. You’ve harped on high end materials, despite these being less than 1% of tradepost impact.
You don’t need gold! Find ways to be better!
You’re telling poor people not to be poor. Ok then. Poverty solved everybody, just get out there and bootstraps, yeah?
Nothing sells!
Yes, because again, no one has any money and they’re not going to spend it on things they can farm. Labor value is at floor because raw gold is critically limited. You’re trying to provide an explanation for a problem that’s already been outlined by repeatedly outlining it. My runic leather, high level food, legendary items, etc. all doesn’t sell. You know what does sell? Iron Hide, listed for 0.08 per. No joke, I’m actively bartering on my server using top level materials. The statement people are saving to spend on anything is the most “what the absolute meteoric bananabread are you on” tier nonsense I’ve seen on these posts.
Skill curves
I again don’t know what you’re on about with this, it’s not a related complaint. If you actually want to relate it, nothing at high skill tiers is worth anything - the raw materials are worth exponentially more gold. I’m 200 Armoring - it’s not profitable. It was a 10K loss because of taxes. This also addresses your prior point yet again, which is the claim people are “saving up” for something more valuable. They aren’t. They’re paying repairs and taxes. My repairs today were 700g. My taxes for my houses are 1.5k / 5 days. Factor in potential respecs at 1000g per for back and forth for wars, how much are you playing to accommodate this?
You’re parroting “you don’t need more than 4K gold!” repeatedly, despite that being subsistence farmer level of gold buffer with nothing left over to actually inject into the economy beyond what is being sunk from you. Ironically, you can claim you’re fine as you are generating wealth, but as the amount of gold injected into the economy continues to shrink you yourself will eventually only be able to subsist as the game slowly dies.
You can just say “I want to be rich while others stay poor!” It’s ok. It’s an MMO with PvP in it, it attracts people like you who would rather see people quit and the game die than let others have a half-decent experience. I’m doing great - I mean all my friends have quit because the game is bad and I have nothing to do - but I’d rather other people do well than try and lord my advantage over others.
and people are saving their money for important things like taxes and buying my stuff
You should be embarrassed you wrote this while attempting to establish any credible ability to provide meaningful feedback.
I agree with most of your post except you’re second point. At 60 there is no good way to generate gold outside of wars/invasions/outpost rush. Everything in the game is a gold sink. Crafting/trading/house tax, repairs, city upkeep. More gold is currently going out of the game, than being generated.
An individual can certainly make money off of the TP by selling the right goods, but that’s not generating new gold, it’s moving gold from one player to another. This is causing a deflation of goods because the overall amount of gold on the server is decreasing and people are spending less and less on goods.
A simple fix would be to increase town boards to a reasonable amount let’s say 20-30g per quest. This infusion of gold would promote spending, increase demand, and increase the value of goods.
Depends on the server, but sure. However, do note that money comes from some sources of gold that most people don’t do much while money sinks affect most people.
Also, the vast majority of people aren’t crafters soooo… do take casuals into consideration please. They are the majority, like 80%+ and they play a couple of hours a day. Like 3 or less.
There is no world I’m going through this point by point. You hand picked parts, some of which were CLEARLY jokes and hyperbole and tried to harp on them. Nah, fam. Try again later.
It was a post about how you don’t NEED money to play the game, you WANT money to craft, own a house, and contribute your clan. You make enough money to do the things that you NEED to do passively with little effort. You have to work to make anything above that.
Nothing else you said is slightly relevant, I can transfer you some gold for a sense of humor if you need one, then try reading again.
The point I’m trying to make is that most of those things you listed are not NEEDS to play the game.
You do not NEED a house, to craft, to trade, or for city upkeep. Those are things that you want, and to get them you NEED to work for them.
You NEED repairs, that is the only one that is absolutely necessary to play the game, and that is easy to obtain through normal gameplay by opening chests and killing NPC’s.
I’m not opposed at all to adding more gold to the economy through things like town board quests or upping quest rewards, I am opposed to adding in vendors to sell items that have no demand but are infinitely farmable and things along those lines.
I think that’s a totally reasonable thing to do, to be honest.
It looks like one of your losses paid more gold and same azoth as your win. Any idea what contributes to the totals?
Is it based on what you do in each match or by how close overall the match was?
You actually don’t NEED repairs. Gear drops are so extremely common, you can just swap out one piece of broken gear for the other. Repairs in my opinion are only to be considered for best in slot pieces. And those pieces I would say, are not needed to be worn for your grindy activities.
By keeping repairs to a minimum, there really is no financial issue.
Maybe this is a hot take but most casual players don’t have discords feeding them economy information.
I’m curious, what level is your gear on average? And how much combat do you do?
Since well, my weapon alone costs over 40 gold to repair, and I had that one since lvl 50 something.
I simply repair hardly anything. I mean, do you really need to hold on to that weapon? In two hours of killing mobs I get like 40 weapons of which most I salvage, some I keep. Similarly for armor pieces, I’m overloaded with gear. Why would I waste money on repairs, when I can just put on something I got for free.
I mean, I can understand you’d want to wear your best pieces of gear for something with actual relevance to you personally, or your company. Think for example a war.
But just for grinding trash? Doing some repetitive dungeon content under your level? You’re wasting gold when repairing gear for that.
I mean, mine is the servers faction discord and my company, pretty sure every server has them.
Company discord I’m not surprised by but I don’t think most servers have a Faction discord
Even with massive AFKs and leaving my client open over night i’m at 282hrs in Steam. 400hrs literally played is kind of disgusting sir. I’m all about no lifing when able, but dude. Dude.
Economy is fine.
I hate to break it to you, but any gold you earned from the market prior to the fishing chest gold drop removal should be null and void or not considered at all.
In 3-4 months when that well dries up as people spend all the gold injected into the system from those bots who did RMT for coins, then we will have another look at the economy. By then, people are going to stop playing if they don’t do PvE/PvP content and are Life Skillers. They are going to have to branch out and do other aspects of the game they probably don’t enjoy.
In fact, there are other games like this… World of Warcraft comes to mind pre-token.
