sorry for being another one given to you a wake-up call… But this is the way how the game was designed.
We cannot have the same behavior as tab-target games.
New World has a looooot to be improved, but I cannot see why they will try to appeal to that type of fight. It’s action-based without smashing the buttons.
I’m really bad at that though, but I think it’s the right way.
I know. And it’s a bad implementation of a combat action mode.
They should strive for a combat action game, with reliable weapon swaps, with fast use of potions, with the very basic things like light attacks not preventing you to swap your weapon being fixed. Even the animation of a consumable prevents you to dodge. Again you will say that is the way it was designed, and I tell you that this way completely ruins the combat experience and the gameplay. It makes the combat controls a fucking bad joke.
They should strive for a game, where you can chain the skills intuitively. They should make that fluid. And not archaic / rigid like it is now.
YES. I want a combat action mmo, well implemented, that works without being a pain in the ass.
I’m not appealing at this type of fight. Combat action is ok. But properly implemented. Nowadays it is buggy & annoying & unreliable.
There are times im cursing a slow weapon swap, even after an action is completed im watching the weapon exchange to see if was executed instead of assuming it has.
This leaves me standing around for 1-2s waiting for the weapon to swap which i find unacceptable.
And in a game where your hp goes from full to half or even zero in that time…just cant happen.
Knowing you could have survived if your weapons swapped in time or your pot was taken but didn’t is frustrating.
This happens in mutations too nevermind the chaos of war.
It really comes down to this. Which is doing actions pre emptively instead of reactively.
Something i was forced to get used to playing new world.
But what i think OP is asking for is immediate reactive actions which i also kind of support in some cases. Not all, in the case of shockwave/charge example mentioned.
I think ags really doesnt like animation cancelling because it was addressed/fixed on bow when players would jump out of auto attacks.
I believe high APM is more skillful and currently these slow executions are just dumbing me down.
But just my opinion.
Can’t agree more.
Exactly, as the other user said, we are two or three steps ahead of what happens. Because as humans we are, we predict what is going on next. So we react to that. But the game actively prevents us fluidly chain our skills, weapon swaps and use of consumables. Being either slow, or buggy. It’s a pain in the ass, and for me it’s not acceptable because it completely ruins my combat experience, and therefore it ruins the PVP.
