I recently got a 590+ Ancient Promise and upgraded it with umbral shards to 600+ unlocking the 3rd perk “Keenly Empowered”, but after testing have come to find out it isn’t even working. I am hoping this isn’t the issue with all purple named items to legendary as I havn’t tested any others yet.
As you can see keenly empowered doesn’t proc once with my Ancient Promise in the clip, yet my Fury does. Has anyone tested this with other named items they upgraded to 600? Hopefully this can get a fix soon as it is extremely underwhelming using my shards on essentially a fake 3rd perk atm. Hopefully it is just an issue with this exact weapon and can easily be fixed.
Watch the video, I attacked plenty of times. I also tested it in front (didn’t record, but I could if needed again) and when it “crits” you still don’t get the empower.
This happened to my friend who upgradded a named Hammer. When he upgraded it and unlocked the 3rd perk Keenly Empowered, it wouldn’t proc.
But by unequipping the weapon, relogging and reequipping the weapon, the problem went away permanently.

when you upgrade weapons with umbral, they seem to break until re-equipped. For example my legendary Healthy Toast earring will not activate after being upgraded with umbral shards unless I re-equip it. Same with the amulet perk ‘health’.
Make sure to re-equip all your gear that you upgrade.
