I don’t know why they are being so quiet about merges… Lets make the player base play a group based game but not have people on a server to do said activities. Most at this point just got fed up and quit because of a low pop server, server locked with friends and the lag / desync

I used to love the pvp in this game so much. Now I literally can’t play it.
I only hop on once a week when my friends happen to be on at the same time to run a dungeon. Then we log off. So sad.
Merge servers. Please. for all that is sacred…argh!!!
That’s what pisses me the most off: the silence from the dev team.
I don’t care if Luxendra mentioned in February update video that server merges are not in the horizon anymore, but that was before many transferred and killed servers.
They are working so hard to improve the quality of life of game features, but they are doing nothing to improve the server population.
In short, two key aspects they “delegated” to end-users are:
They do not improve anything on the server population and they do not actively moderate public chats inside a world.
And these two aspects are critical to quality of life in game.
I feel like vague answers like “not any time soon” and “not on the horizon” and “eventually” should not be considered actual answers from the devs.
What does a “not soon” from more than a month ago even mean? Nothing.
It means absolutely nothing, and even worse than just being nothing, it gives people something to point at and justify behaviors that are making the game worse, like the mass exodus from medium pop servers to high pops that caused queues and negative experiences for thousands of players.
Now we have overfull high pops, a tiny number of medium pop servers and a bunch of dead ones with sub 100 players online.
Instead of just saying “we’ll merge you in a couple months” they make it so vague that it effectively means there is no hope of a server merge for a lot of people in a reasonable amount of time.
This caused panic and stupid choices, and those caused issues.
If they’d given us a real answer we could have avoided those issues by being better informed players. The only downside to a real answer for them would have been accountability.
EU and French servers need a merge also.
Just make 4 east coast servers that is all you will ever need.
On Saturday night, there were at peak times more than 10 European servers with less than 100 players. What’s the point of keeping it like this? Do you really think that the gamer community does not know the time it takes to manage, technically speaking, a server merger and what it implies? That is why we are so angry, because we are taken for fools, as if we were people who do not know that a server merger is something relatively simple and more so with such empty servers. and even so, the company chooses not to speak… not to give announcements and let the players get locked up in empty servers where 50% of the game is simply non-existent, making you either decide to delete your character and create a new one on another server already that they are ignoring you… or that you lose the desire to enter.
or I’ve gone from playing almost 7 hours a day to playing 4 a week because that’s how long it takes me to do everything that doesn’t need people, and then I have to leave the game because there’s nothing interesting to do other than farming boringly…
but amazon games… hush. instead of putting practical solutions… silence… and then they get angry when the community shouts saying that they are tired of being ignored… in short, no one understands

. It almost feels like they want New World to die so they can focus on Lost Ark which they can make $$$ with their pay mechanics.

As someone merged into CoS … mergers arent always a good thing… Over population kills casual play and the amount of bots and AFKers kill the ability to take a break from fighting and wanting to just take a break and go farm your own mats your basically stuck having to buy any and everything. Its obvious a lot of these “players” that are spending 12+ hours a day stadnign on the same nodes are gold sellers cause there is no way they are playing the game for any reason other than farming Ori til their bags are full to see for nearly 5G a piece and turning around and selling the gold for real money. Please Unmerge me back to a nice Mid/Low pop server so when my insomina is running wild I can venture and do stuff solo when my guildees are all sleeping
Mid pop is best if grass is greener people don’t flee to high pop and your server suddenly becomes low pop. I can’t begin to tell you how horrible low pop is. No OPR. Invasions Downgrade everything. No one to buy or sell. The game is unplayable.
And right now we have FORTY-EIGHT low pops.
@Engelsmorder I couldn’t agree more… CoS was a chill place before, I could do all my casual farming before 9am while working from home… Now its a nightmare even at 6am… Dont even bother farming anything past 10am… Dont get me started on the ORI, I could net 5k ore in a 3-4h period un contested and while working (I supply my company mates, well used to anyways)… I have reverted to recording bots instead and posting it all on youtube… Making them public one at a time… Sadly AGS doesnt care anyways, loosing battle both ways…
Just go merge to a lower pop server then?? Its easy.
If you are mainly just a farmer, transferring out to a lower pop server would be very helpful.
In the mornings thats easy, well used to be… We as a company always run instances or chest runs in the afternoons. It is what it is… Im not leaving my company mates behind just to solo farm… lol Who does that ?
You are lucky. My server was completely dead so my company was forced to leave. At that time Castle of Steel was the healthiest looking so we decided to go. Within 30 minutes Castle of Steel locked, 10 people made it in, 8 of us got locked out.
If you aren’t happy there PLEASE leave so other people can maybe one day rejoin their friends in a high pop server.
You are being COMPLETELY selfish if you are hoarding your place in castle of steel when you have complaints about being there. Selfish as heck man. Some of us are dying to play the game again man.
Just STOP complaining about high pop if you aren’t willing to leave.
