They should maybe keep a similar thought in mind:

Steam says I spent 64 hours on this game in the past two weeks, and I doubt Im the most tryhard guy out there. That’s more than a part time job and in doing so I’m making sure they still have their jobs. Once the community is gone, there’s no need for it to be managed.

A lot of us are loudly unhappy because this IS our day to day as well, and we’re in it suffering the negative results of nerf-heavy changes that just keep rolling in. We have no recourse but to make angry posts about it. Had sensible posts worked, we would still be trying those.

They just have to deal with loudmouths on a forum and toss the occasional good suggestion up the line to someone who might or might not read and deal with it. They have power to affect change, and we don’t.

If the loudmouths get out of line they can get rid of them.

If my game is full of bugs and nerfs, I can’t go ban the problems.

You may be right but gotta remember that they are also gonna feel feelings when stuff is said certain ways.

Don’t get me wrong. you can criticize the game. My point was and is when people attack them while doing it, it will make them want to not even read the post.

How you express your feelings is in your control. Don’t let the lizard brain rule you. You are not the Lizard King.

But we do need hippos

Absolutely, was happy to hear that the devs actually gave sat around and considered it at a meeting. Genuinely hoping they fit well into Brimstone Sands in an oasis or something.

I can see some corrupted hippos in our future.

But the game is dying, it’s undeniable. No game can outstand time with so few players. In entire South America servers there not even 2k people playing.

Bro, new world has the same ammount of people playing of Ragnarok. If this is not an indication of a massive failure I don’t know what is.

They will never manage to get the players who left to come back, otherwise they would have done it already. This game can last for what, 3, 4, 5 years? but eventually it will become unsustainable.

But if you wan’t to delude yourself, then by all means, who am I to stop you? xD

Thats just my opinion, a beta player who fealt utterly betrayed and laughed at when this game “launched”.

Ok…

So how does that apply to getting feedback read by the devs rather than ignored cause people are attacking them?

You say that like People haven’t done it in the past. Hell, People like Halcyon Made post full of feedback since October 2021, and it has been largely go unanswered until May of this year.

When people feel like talking to a brick wall when they give feedback, or the New world devs twist people’s words to make things worst, Or hell, Listen to the wrong set of feedback from a twitch streamer because he got owned by a low level. Of course people are going to attack the devs. Just look at the GS Open world pvp changes. Majority hated it, but the devs never reverse the changes.

Sorry, if I don’t have complete fate in AGS. But they haven’t exactly proven to listen to us, or give us solution to problems without some kind of catch.

What feedback have they outright ignored?

Unfortunately i have to agree with their lack of reply to some really good feedback here. Some of the best writeups i have ever seen from halycon and mixednuts have gone unanswered with thousands of posts. And only recently did they even get a post in them, and it was shadow fox posting just for the sake of having orange letters in it. ( I know she meant well)

As much as i die hard for AGS this is a definite area that needs improvement, in not only replies but engagement, real meaningful engagement and some transparency that i think even i crave.

On the flipside, they DID shadowfix the game working on linux after a huuuuuuuuuuge writup on what it would take to make the game work on linux, and a technical writeup on exactly which boxes to tick to make it work. There was never a single reply from a dev or CM in that post the entire time, but they still fixed it.

So :woman_shrugging:

Yeah. We all want transparency.

But the spirit of this post is about not being a jerk on the forums as it doesnt really provide much in the way of getting anything actually done.

I have had my issues with the forums in the past and have felt like they are not listening. Look at my pve roadmap post I bumped for almost two months.

They have gotten better here lately which prompted this post initally. We need to focus on the issues and let the past go. or quit.

I definitely agree. They need quality feedback, and taking potshots and just doomsaying and rehashing everything that’s happened in the past is not helping. It’s hurting.

Just looking in the forums can be a miserable experience, and it’s almost like a thing now. Hating on AGS and new world is like a meme. And i don’t like it, it hurts mah heart :c

Exactly why I have been blocking the known bad actors who admit they dont even play the game now.

My combat discussion went through several stages of testing and received thousands of likes and replies and it took multiple users begging the team to look at it.

It got a “we’ll pass this along” response about ten months after it became available to the public.

AGS receives an enormous amount of unguided (and often unwarranted) hate. They are, however, deserving of more than their fair share of criticism, especially regarding the way(s) they choose to interact with the community. Ten months for an active thread with a high like to post ratio is a bit excessive, especially for what amounted to a non-response.

I wasnt on the forums till around March this year so I gueess my perspective is from my experience. And I dont disagree that they have dropped the ball in times.

Your posts arent the topic of this post though. Its the mounds of posts that have a title and a line and its all just AGS is garbage etc etc etc.

Getting the feedback like yours to the devs is still important.

There’s definitely no shortage of whining, complaining, and just flat-out wrong information floating around out there.

It’s not fun for the team to sift through and it’s not helpful or good for the community. I FEEL that if the mod team spent more time highlighting good feedback and didn’t give generic responses to nearly everything it would do a lot more for the forum experience.

Unfortunately, it feels like they just go for low-hanging fruit and avoid hard topics. It’s definitely discouraging for the people trying to provide good feedback.

1000% agree. Just a little open moderation of the worst actors too would help.

I will say, the devs have been in more posts lately prodding for info and saying they like or dislike feedback. Venture through the dev tracker. I t may look different than in the past. At least I hope it does.

I have seen this, in fact just the other day one post got locked and immediately afterward a new post was added screaming about censorship. That one rolled for a while before it too got locked and removed. I know they really try to ride the fence but when it drops into the low blow barbarism posts i just would much rather they move them to a “AGS haters forum” section all to itself.

There has been more moderation. Though yesterday could have used a bit lol
