Void Gaunt underperforming in melee

How did you read that and come to that extreme? Im more asking that to avoid such confusion in the future than making a personal attack.

I did not use an ad hominin or attack you.

If the Void is a support weapon that is used to slow. Then by that same logic, any weapon with a CC is a support weapon and needs to be adjusted as such.

Pfft nah Im not that much of a whiny little twerp lol. I just like to make things clarified. So to address the confusion i meant that when im having a fight with another player 1v1 im not expecting to win. My job isnt really to fight. Im a healer, i let other people fight for me and its my job to keep them alive. The void gauntlet to me is just there as a deterrant as I can put out a lot of damage and if I want I can tether the damage I do and heal me with it. Compound that with void orb and void blade and you have a great source of health trying to kill me. which is good because it slows them down and forces them to reconsider their decissions usually long enough for my allies to catch up so i Ian get back to healing.
Just dont miss with the tether.

You are right about the root from petrifying screem that one sucks now. Its not enough for me to do anything and I see people roll out of it all the time. Thats why I dropped it.

I did get spanked along with 4 other guys while in the middle of a mangled run by one dps using the rapier and bow, never seen it before. That dude was dodging almost everything. And when we got close to killing him he would just dart away. Again im healing the group and attacking when i can and using beacon to turn him into a mobile healing aoe but yeah it was like trying to hit a fly with a dumbell weight.

Ah, you see. I am a Battlemage. I play Battlemage or Melee Summoner style classes in every game I partake in.

Void Gaunt is the battlemages weapon until they give battlemages a legitimate contender for a weapon.

They legitimately gutted the weapon then turned around and gave movement to players and gave players treanchant recovery.

Both need to be removed from the game.

personally I like the faster pace that the player was ducking diving and dodging. I would like to see more weapons get that feature. I dont like how easy the game is to be honest. its as if ags is afraid to kill their players so they really dumb down the npcs but they could be more aggressive so that pve players could be brought up to a more competitive level and the transition would be easier. but even playing with the void gauntlet I really dislike how I cant run and gun with it like the bow can. there is a delay for my ranged attack after simply casting a light ranged attack. even the musket gets no delay after shooting, you can run right after taking a shot. the delay makes no sense.

Void Gauntlet seems like to be a speed, accuracy, and precision weapon but in reality its none of those things. Almost all of the animations self-root, the range is abysmal, and they’re slow.

what? VG is kicking my ass, screech and flamethrower killing it if anything the stun shouldnt last as long or like other stuns using WH the stun shouldd wear off the second the player takes damage

Flamethrower is kicking your ass. Not Void Blade.

i just played opr where void plade hit 1k dmg alone through heavy wanna play with a blade get you a sword or rapier dont forget to take advantage of the 20% damage buff from light armor

An anecdote doesn’t address the issues that anyone here has been talking about.

20% from light armor doesn’t make any of the weapons good, if anything it just makes light armor that much of a crutch.

You’re hitting the nail on the head with all your points and showing good logic.

It is a meme in a classless game that braindead melee complained about VG and got it nerfed.

Meanwhile one GA/Hammer can do so much cleave damage and no one bats an eye.

Or another example, how VG was the answer to healers. Oblivion countering sacred ground and heals should still be in the game, albeit to a lesser degree.

It was the one counter to healers just staying in a patch and was legitimate pressure.

There is no way that it was not intended, they said it was unintended. yet it took them one year to patch maelstrom stopping allied ranged projectiles.

It was really the one interesting time in the meta when VG balanced out heals. what a time it was. Also the homing on it at that time was good and made sense, even though I do hate homing. Feels bad man, void gauntlet half the time is like swining in the air.

Thanks, was it over tuned for release? Yes. But now all 2h weapons are over tuned by the very logic used to nerf VG.

It’s because the people who cried nerf for the VG are not optimal players, they just want to Caveman their way through the game.

Yep, some of the players are actually have no PVP acumen or intelligence. So their answer is to nerf anything they don’t like because they’re actually too stupid to figure out counterplay.

Damage is not low, but try it and check this hit track … you will understand :sunglasses: It is terrible.

Anyone figured away of making the light attacks more consistent? Is running Keen Speed the only way?

yeah, My only argument from the VG was that the scream just needed a startup animation, much like Shockwave and Shield bash for the CC to play out, because it was strong. I like strong CC, it’s a necessary function in MMOs, and I think for a game this aggressive and mobile, CC is even more desperately needed. System we have now in general is just awful.

If they give it stronger dots, they need to remove void blade. You can reach 50% fortify, have rend, weaken and empower in an aoe that also deals dmg, cc, range, dots, self heal, buff removal, healing nerf in one perk.

There’s a reason it was nerfed. You can’t have everything and shred tanks in seconds at the same time.

Btw, the weapon is still good, it’s still one of the best melee dps weapon with more utility than any other weapon. You will see people run away from you or spam block while you have void blade. That’s because most builds can survive a WH in the face but they can’t survive the Void Blade
