Is the drop rate for void ore just extra low or does it not drop from the wealth transfer temporary change?
Is the drop rate lower now or does it not drop at all with the changes?

The drop rate was not changed it was always that low. To answer the next obvious question … many companies and players duped the materials to get the void armor set and sell the void ore.
So, Void Ore is one of the rarest items to drop in the game (afaik). Not looking to debate Void Ore vs Stacked Decks or whatever else. Its just ONE OF.
How the game works is normally you roll between 1-100,000 to determine loot pool. Once it rolls that initial roll to determine loot pools, it then will determine what loot from that pool you get.
For example, and my exact numbers may be wrong here so forgive me, You need a >101500 on the first table, you then roll again and if its >85000 (I think) you get a cobalt/crystal item, and if that second roll was >100001 you get a void ore.
So basically its 2 rolls.
If you have 200 mining, thats +2000 to your min/max roll. If you have a +2000 food buff, thats another +2000 to your min/max roll. If you can get say +20% on gear, thats another +2000 to min/max roll. So using that, its +6000 to your min/max roll which means your range is now 6,000 - 106,000.
Since you need to pass a 101,500 on your first roll and your max is 106,000 you have a ~4,500/100,000 chance to pass the FIRST roll (4.5%) and then you need a 100,000+ on the second roll which means you have a ~6% chance on the second roll.
How the math adds up, if you have a 4.5% chance on the first roll, and a 6% chance on the second roll this would translate to a ~0.27% chance to strike a Void Ore. Which would take you ~370 ore “nodes” on average to see a Void Ore. If you are averaging say 20 ore per node, this would translate to ~7,400 Ori Ore on average per Void.
Your probability increases dramatically as you add more luck however. If you are at +60% Luck (20 gear, 20 Mining, 20 Food) and can raise your luck to say 80% by getting more Luck sources (Gear/Trophies) Now the math works like this:
So going from +60% Luck to +80% Luck actually ~DOUBLES your chances to get Void Ore. Which now brings that math from 1 Void per 370 nodes to 1 Void per 192 nodes.
I think the max Luck is somewhere around +108% Luck, which would bring the probability to almost a 1% chance to get a Void per Ore Node. So ~100 nodes. But this would require Maxed Luck on every item as well as 3 houses with the Major Trophies (which arent even available on my server atm).
My 2 cents here as well, I typically dont even bother mining Ori Nodes unless I am in full luck gear, with luck food on. Just my base Mining + House + PickAxe luck alone, gives me a .09% chance of a Void Ore per node (so ~ a 1 in 1,100 chance to hit it).
Hope this helps!
Well, I mined some 10k+ ore by now, 41% luck from gear + food + trophy and didn’t see single Void Ore drop. At the same time we have people with marginaly better mining gear (some 2% more imho, maybe second trophy) who get 2 per mining session. So something somewhere is bugged, just can’t say what it is. If I had to guess, it would be the mining trophy, I just have one and some people have three, but I don’t believe it’s supposed to boost you so hard you are dropping void ores every session
, especially when we are talking the low tier ones.
EDIT: After some 1k more orichalc I dropped my first. So at least I know, that I technically can, but given the time spent and given time spent I know from other players (like 1 void ore every day at least) something still feels off.
Hey there, very interesting reply but I have a doubt about that 20% translating in 2000 luck.
If the loot table is based on 100k, shouldn’t 20% translate into 20000 luck?
No, luck adds to your min and max roll. 20000 would be 200% luck. Read the comments above to understand this.
