I have an average of 560GS and I’m still using the faction gear set because I don’t see nothing in the AH that convinces me and the drops from dungeons or chest are trash that i can’t even use to level up because as soon my expertise grows up that part is already obsolete. They are only good to deconstruct. To make you an idea my head set expertise is 570 but the part I’m using 520.
My idea is to invest between 40 and 50k in buy the materials and ask someone in my guild to craft the voidbent armor. 3 medium and 2 heavy. I was thinking to use this set for pve and pvp, to have more luck with the drops and at the same time to have a decent set when I do pvp. Then with the time concentrate in obtaining a set more adequate for my build in pvp.
Why the voidbent armor? Because I was thinking that this set is already 600. That means I can use it for continuing incrementing my gs with the umbral shards system. If I didn’t understood wrong, when I put shards to an armor piece I’m not upgrading the armor piece but the slot. That means if I have 625 gs in my head part and I change that part to another one, that one is automatically 625 and I don’t have to do it again. Also that would mean that automatically I don’t need to worry in search for another pve armor, because I would already have the voidbent armor at the 625 and I that can be my pve set forever.
The thing is make a good decision and use that set for pve and decently for pvp till I find better stuff. And not only invest for pve and be trash in pvp.
But my question is: I’m making the right decision or is there something better I could do? Because after give those 50k I’m in balls.
I need suggestions because I’m not really an expert in how everything works.
You can literally find a set of armor on chest runs that you can use for PvE and do just fine. Sure you aren’t going to survive a mutation dungeon with it, but for regular PvE you don’t need uber gear. Moreover, I would focus on getting gypsum through casts to increase your GS as quickly as you can.
If you don’t think you can get good armor through chest runs, then go to the AH and buy armor that is GS 590-596. It is cheap as dirt because crafters are just trying to recover some money. You can upgrade that gear through umbral shards that you will get when you get to 600 GS if you really like it or salvage it and not feel like you made a 50K coin bad decision.
I don’t think you can ever invest 50K in a crafting profession and expect to be able to get a great set of gear out of it. Not on 50K. Definitely not with armorcrafting when you need 3 trophies that will cost 150K to be able to make 600 GS items (assuming the RNG “Gods” go your way).
In short, search the AH and be frugal. Buy lower GS items that fit your build. Raise your GS on chest runs. I used plenty of that armor while skilling up.
You are upgrading both. Umbral will upgrade your expertise from 600-625 but you will still need to upgrade new gear. So yes, you can use your void bent in pve and it will always be 625 if you raise it with umbral but any other piece you slot and havent upgraded will be its normal gear score. It will take more umbral to upgrade any new piece.
