I get 500 pvp xp when you get your ass kicked in 5 minutes, but losing 1000-900 in a 35 minute match should not also reward 500. Put it back to 2k for a longer match!
They just also have to consider the rewards for things like win-trading and AFKs. They really can’t hand out a substantial reward, or they’ll instantly have people who abuse it-- people probably already abuse it with a reward handed out.
We’re talking about a playerbase that reported people so they wouldn’t have to PVP against them, or just so they wouldn’t have to see their chats. Abusing what can quickly amount to ‘free XP’ is in no way beneath them.

When did they do this?
Legit camped OPR last night, and it was 2k for a loss.
Maybe it has something to do with points contributed? I was pushing 5k to 10k points after every game…depending on length. (Bow musket is amazing)
I’m curious too. I did a lot of opr last night and got 2k for a loss. I was also pushing 5-10k per match though… I don’t think there has been a patch either 
I lost 2 matches today, I had over 2500 points in both, not great runs but not my worst. We lost both after about 30-40 mins and I got 500 shards each time.
You need 3k+ points in OPR to get the 2k xp. I build a base and farm a brute, easy 3k. Get 2k xp and 1k Salt.
