Waiting in QUEUE? Try THIS (do your part!)

I did that and it was fine yesterday, now that server is stuffed. Lunchtime here now and i’m 1568 in the queue.

ESO had log-in issues, as well as a severe bot problem. Templar bots crowded the main area to such an extend that eventually they had to place customer support people in the starting areas just to ban bots as they logged in. Talked with a couple of GMs that had 10 hours behind them and was exhausted.

Red Dead online I didn’t play so I can’t say anything about that.

worst support ever, indeed in que more than in game

you press ok and wait, not play play again…

Then you start getting ExpiredToken messages and there is no recovering from that

the solution is super easy just open character transfer but seems they need time to “Think out of the box”

adding new server is for new players you didnt help the players who already in the server. but ya keep ignoring

The queue is the pre-requisite entrance to the game. So everybody has to go through it and the content is unimportant if you cannot manage to get in. I have just been waiting in the queue for almost one hour to move from place 450 to 40 - then i get a message that there is a problem joining the queue. Next try start from place 700. Half an hour later next error message and thrown out. So they should get the rating they deserve if even a big player like Amazon cannot manage the server load. This is part of the whole package.

Posting negative reviews on Steam about a queue time that they are actively working to fix does absolutely nothing but turn potential new players away from the game. That is why they have these forums. They have community managers who read this forum along with members of the dev team who go over the bug reports and the posts. Trust me when I tell you that they see and hear everything we are saying.

Unless you have game development experience, you shouldn’t be shouting at devs for a fix when the game isn’t even 2 DAYS OLD. I want to play just like anyone else, but as someone who has worked in IT and also does programming and scripting, fixes take TIME. You don’t want to throw something out there that may cause instability or more issues while trying to fix one.

As for an MMO launch, this has gone far better in my opinion than many I’ve seen over the years. The devs were quick to respond and start standing up more servers while simultaneously working on ways to ensure the systems can take increasing server capacity without crashing.

Do you have proof of this? Do you have a screenshot or documentation somewhere to back this up?

I distinctly remember that they said during both the closed and open beta that while server capacity would be higher in the open beta then closed, it was not the full/expected capacity at launch.

Another thing to note would be that, if the caps were higher during beta, it was to test what kind of strain and errors might occur when stressing the underlying systems and routines. They may have increased the cap to see where the limit was that things started breaking down so they could work on improving it. They may have set the cap low for launch for stability while they continue to work on ways to improve it without causing crashes or random issues like no spawning or other things.

I also think it is worth noting that with an MMO, you can test and test and test internally and you may even have the ability to simulate 1000s of players connecting, but testing doesn’t mean it will work perfectly in the real world. They want a solution that will not hinder playing by those able to get in.

Haha, it’s a community you pleb, go cry about having your feeling hurt somewhere else.

I understand your point.
However, I have never experienced such a gigantic wait with WOW, Swords of Legends, Maestia, Metin2 or any other MMO.
Amazon must be aware that this has negative consequences. In this case in the form of negative reviews.
Problems are allowed to occur in any game, no question about that. Many problems and bugs are probably only discovered by the community in the course of the game.
But waiting times between 5-10 hours are beyond the scope. A solution must be found within 24 hours.
Metin2 has solved these problems by giving each server 4 channels. Thus, the larger capacity was not a problem. Whether it makes sense here? I have no idea. I never got into the game.
The fact is, the criticism is justified and it will get worse the longer it takes to find a solution. Amazon has not done itself any favours here.

Very well said…

It is just sad to see that the start is different than expected.
Players who are currently in the game are happy. But the majority is now disappointed and will make negative comments.
And that unfortunately affects many other people who were still considering buying this game.

There is nothing comparable at the moment. Everything I’ve seen on YouTube speaks for a great MMO.
It’s a shame that many are now turning away from the game because of the queuing problem and are looking for alternatives.

I don’t disagree with the criticism. Amazon may have lowballed their expectations and that is definitely on them. I will certainly agree with that. I also believe they underestimated the hype for this game and based some things off of the closed and open betas.

The only truly massive game you listed is WoW. Final Fantasy XIV also has had queue times in the past, but they also have easily 40 realms per world and probably a server cap of 5-7k. ESO, another huge MMO, had extensive queue times during its launch and afterwards because of the sheer number of players that flooded into the server.

Amazon did not expect the massive influx of people for one reason or another. They were probably expecting lower numbers during the week and a huge pop on the weekend. I’m not saying they didn’t make a mistake. They admitted to the fact that they needed to make changes and have been doing exactly what they said. I’m mostly commenting to most of the people that are wanting to leave negative reviews and slam this when, for a hugely anticipated MMO, has had a really stellar launch. I’ve seen nothing about instability, crashes, or anything else for those able to play. Just trouble logging in. If logging in is the only issue to be had on a brand new MMO, that is great and they can fix that in hopefully a few days.

If people are incapable of being patient and give the development team time to fix the issue and test solutions, then what was the point of purchasing the game. Yes, I want to play and enjoy this game just as much as everyone else, but I also am willing to be patient and let them find solutions while trying to get some playtime in where I can.

It sucks, sure, but it will be resolved eventually. All it takes is a little patience.

I didn’t misunderstand you either.
I agree with you. But people are like that by nature.
Assuming everything is perfect. The graphics, the map, the bosses, the dungeons, the battle system etc… Everything fits.
But then there is an NPC with a quest where the message was not translated correctly.
What do you think the forum says?
How great the game is or how crappy the NPC is?

True. I am the type that shrugs things off unless it is something that majorly impacts my life. I look forward to playing this with friends and it will only get better from here. This game made me want to play MMOs again and I enjoyed my time playing the beta. I will likely try to login tonight and more likely over the weekend, but patience is just the key to enjoying this. Everything will be fixed in time. Glad to find a like-minded individual.

Done. They do not deserve my support.

Review bombing is not real purpose of the review. What I mean is, if you are salty, refund the game, that really hurts. You can do allegations that you can’t play, which is true.
