War as Attacker - Balancing

Hello,

i want to give my feedback about wars on the attacker side. My company and myself got a lot of experience in defending and attacking several cities.

First of all: Our winrate in defending (!) our city everfall is 100%. We also helped other companies of our faction defending their home bases. So we´ve done a lot of war fights with our company.

We´ve also conquered few cities.

The devs of this game already ´ve quoted that there are more successfull defends than attacks. 80% of the time the defenders were the winners.

There are two war mechanics which give the defender a very big advantage.

  1. They can spawn at contested areas (A,B,C) from the beginning.

  2. There´s no real death penalty for dieing too often for the defenders, because of point 1.

Additionally:

The respawn at the spawn areas at the A,B,C points can happen on every side of the area. So you can sandwich the attackers by respawning, which is also a small advantage.

What does it mean?

It´s nearly impossible to conquer areas if the enemy is stacking on one point.

What should be changed?

  1. Respawn isn´t possible at contested A,B,C areas. Which means, if there is 1 (!) enemy inside the area, you can´t respawn there.

  2. There should be a higher individual death penalty and a reward for focusing enemies and guarding your friends. There shouldn´t be a global respawntimer. First death = 15 secs respawn, 2. 30 secs, 3. 45 secs, 4. 60 secs and it stays after 4. death at 60 secs every time. Which means every kill is more worth and you can´t charge or respawn brainless all the time. So you need to play more carefully and guard your backlines better. On the the side you get a reward to kill players, because it lowers the enemy pressure.

  3. The respawn points at non contested areas should be near the fortress for defenders and the opposite side for attackers

  4. Warcamp and fortress are still the main respawn areas. Doesnt matter, if fortress is contested, because the new death penalty should fix the big defender advantage.
