So if we have 2 characters on two different worlds we are still only allowed one defense and one attack per day? How does that make sense? @Luxendra

Also why can a company merc 40 people for an attack but then has to have 35 for defense? Not much logic in that either

I think the first question is that too few players are taking too many slots. That’s the interpretation i have of it.

As for the second, i’m guessing they want more people to be able to be involved in attacks in general. And companies need to be more self reliant on defense if they hold a territory. I can kind of see the logic behind it, but i don’t have the hard numbers that they do to look behind the scenes on decisions like that.

The restrictions in total combined will result in a lot more people needing to be slotted overall. Which i think is an inherent good, but it remains to be seen how it will play out.

IE holding two territories would need 70 strong defenders plus bench in case you got DD’d. Can’t shell to circumvent, light requirement on attackers means you have more ability to DD to spread defenders thin ect.

I don’t really have a problem with attackers needing less then defenders, but 10 is too little. Maybe like 20-25. In theory it allows people to come together and make a roster between two factions to beat the best companies, in practice it won’t really do that.

All it’s gonna do is make it so people attack and win just to lose the defense, which I guess they are cool with and want territory changing hands.

The war fatigue is one of the dumbest ideas they’ve ever had. Especially to expand it to your alt? But at the end of the day it generates revenue for them cause people buy 2nd and 3rd accounts for wars. They don’t realize how the war changes (minimum in house) and cooldown for companies will eliminate shells and get so many more people into wars.

I reckon the next step is a smaller war time window, for example: all wars must occur within the same hour. This is virtually the same as war limit since you will be only ale to play 1-2 wars (also, this is not fatigue, fatigue doesn’t limit you, it debuffs you). This way no alt accounts

Interesting too with them experimenting with influence push time windows to allow for defense. I want to see that play out.

It sounds like part of what they want to do with that is limit the windows in which influence is pushed. While that sounds good for incentivizing open world PvP and allowing territory owners to counter pushes, it could make it harder to double dec a company that has too many territories.

I will start by saying, im someone whos in it for the PvP and wars specifically. With the proposed suggestion of war changes and changes to eliminate shell companies I was excited because i’ve been on both sides of being in a company owning 5+ territories all under shells and then being on a server where a company owns 5+ territories under shells. Breaking down the notes from PTR, daily war limit is understandable but too little imo. It kills the content PvPers have right now and unless theres more stuff to be excited about thats coming, then you can expect to see player numbers get lower during peak hours and servers seem not full when really people just have nothing to do. (And no, OPRs and 3v3s are not something war players get excited for as those systems are super flawed with the matchmaking and lack of different maps and options). 2 Attacks and 1 Defense I think would be better. And this is as long as this change actually is per character on same world rather than account wide (it being account wide would be dumb and kill 90+% of alts on other servers that people currently have made). War rostering restrictions are absolutely absurd. I dont understand how a decision like this was made to be 100% honest. 40 mercs on attack and 15 on defense. The 15 on defense is good, great step this is what I thought would happen and forces people to be in the company. 40 on attack though?? If you want people to get in wars this is not the way to do it. (Btw reality is, people need to improve and get better because the system is built around territories being high value and something competitive to fight over. Dont complain about not getting in wars if you dont PvP and suddenly want to get in without making a name for yourself - not defending the war system on this either, it is extremely flawed, but given how it works right now, some work from the user has to be put in and not just given that you can do the wars which are of high value. If the system changes that wars arent high value, then it can be more casual, leading to then more players getting in, but its just flawed from every angle at the moment.) Finally company switching cooldown. Good change, obvious it was coming and I have no issues with it. Nice that its when you leave a company instead of joining one as a lot of companies who would disband then have to face a 3 day cd if they join a new company which wouldve been dumb. Overall, nice to finally have some changes to the system, but in my opinion its 1 step forward and 2 steps back with this one from the 4.3k+ hours i have in this game.

I agree that the limit on attackers should be increased. Maybe it makes sense to have it lower than defense. I can see a situation where two small companies may work together on attacking, then merge if attack is successful in order to defend. But it should be around 25 people. 10 is just pointlessly low. You will have companies that cannot defend merc out 40 slots to the major war company B teams, rake in a few 100k in the three or 4 days before it can be take back if they catch an invasion window, then not even put up a defense. Thats basically ruining the war and territory control mechanic for the less sweaty companies that want to fight over side territories.

This DEF cooldown will be a problem, if you have you territory been attacked more them once a day, how do you be able to defend, I think the best solution is, if you are on a company with a territory you cannot attack, just defend your territory as many times you be needed.

And for Attack the cooldown will be nice, if you try to get an territory and lost the war you have to wait the next day for trying again.

A territory cannot be attacked more than once per day. The thing you said about attacking makes no sense either.

Yeah 10 is just way too low. doesnt make any sense to be able to merc almost the whole roster for attack but then that company wont even be able to defend it.

It makes sense… it is harde to attack, so you can merc the best 40 from other companies to fill the war… then to defend you only have your company with a few mercs.

It might help balance it so more attacks win.

There is a decent handful of players that have multiple characters across servers in multiple regions. They are great players, but it’s not good for the game when literally 50-100 players can do 3-5 wars a night across multiple servers and doing nothing else but war logging. Ya it sucks but at the same time it gives more access to more players. It removes a lot of other factors as well. Now a lot of weaker companies can actually have a chance at taking land now because the people they are attacking might not have a huge chunk of war logging alts there to help them defend. It will also do the same for attacking, since these beasts can only do 1 attack war, companies might get war camped a bit more too since it’s very possible they might not be able to get enough help since everyone is limited to 1 attacking war. Time will tell.
