You can’t participate in these activities on my sever unless you have kowtowed their “leadership” for months…even then…good luck. I have no interest in steaming my inventories so they can decide what I have to give them to be in their good graces.
It would force them to expand the roster to hold more than 3 territories. Say you can’t do more than 3 wars a day it would force a company to slot members in and out to have enough to defend properly.
you understand that all these people can easily gather up and push influence on their own right??
Also sucks you have to deal with that. I have been lucky enough to have a company that slots me in almost every war, so my perspective is a little different. We used an experience system to slot people in so past performance and attendance keeps people slotted.
Q
War fatigue should be 3 wars per day per faction. Playing in a server where 3 wars a day was common enough I can say if that is cap it would be a good balance for the people who want to do a lot of wars and server health.
Because, as of today, most people do not do the work to get a war. Only the more organized and pvp orientated players push influence so that a war can get started. Lesser motivated players will not run pvp missions, as a group, on hostile territory if they keep getting killed. You have to be flagged to push influence. And, you need those organized and motivated pvp players to pull that off. And, once a war is declared, the people whom ran that influence usually get priority in it. So, you may sign up for the war. But, if you do not know the people in the company running the war, good luck getting selected. Why would anyone push influence and pay for a war if they know they cannot participate in it or win it?
PVP orientated companies are the ones whom are largely pushing territory influence. And, as such, they should get priority in participation of it. For those people whom largely do PVE content, you must become a PVP player, run influence, kill and get killed and purchase the war in order to participate in it.
War is not a sign up board. It is a team effort to win territory. So, a casual pvp’r will always be largely locked out of a war.
I also don’t really like that idea since content is already thin. I’d much rather prefer a 2 tiered wars where first part is a massive battle between every signed up player, regardless of number difference, for bonuses during actual war. That way if a company is toxic and have little support from the server there are going to be outnumbered (welcome real alliances and not a 1 player shell companies) and players from smaller factions can actually experience the war and learn.
The company that pushes decides who gets put in the war so they always get priority I’m not sure what you mean.
Also many aren’t able to be online for the optimal times to push influence, which tends to be outside of peak hours. Unless your faction happens to be one of the more populated ones it’s easy to get outnumbered pushing influence and just have it amount to nothing. This has happened, at some point, to every company I’ve been in since I started playing this game. So why shouldn’t good PvP players who don’t have time to be on at odd hours of the day be locked out of the only endgame pvp content?
having shell companies is the dumbest thing ive seen, to counter it, war fatigue of 2 hours should do the trick.
The company that pushes the territory influence is usually the one whom declares the war. They get to pick whom participates in the war.
And, yes, territory influence often gets pushed during off hours. Sometimes multiple territories by a small group of people. If you add fatigue, that goes away, noone wants to push influence if they can’t participate in a war.
Your mentality is the very reason war fatigue is absolutely necessary. What you describe is at the very least, elitist. Whether you realize that, or think otherwise is irrelevant. I think war fatigue is a excellent solution to the “good ol’ boys clubs” and similar favoritism that runs rampant right now.
The people that want “war fatigue” want a handout mechanic by the developers.
No one has to pick you for their team and no one has to save you a slot for a war or invasion.
good questions are why aren’t you getting picked.
Is your company not playing well with other companies?
Are you involved with server politics?
I literally had to fill out a form with screenshots to get white listed for a invasion on my own faction while purples and greens were in the invasion.
The idea is town downgrades are bad for the server as a whole so why let it happen. Then I got told there’s a lot of healers and I won’t be picked up often for invasions. Does that bother me? Not really.
Where are these “good pvp players” companies or guilds?
Why not push influence on your own instead of complaining about favortism
oh look one of the shell abusers is crying. No, voucher system enforces accessibility and nukes shells. f*** zergs and shells.
Cause he has communist mentality: “I want everything for FREEEEEE!”
That guys don’t realize a fact that wars arent free content. They cast time and resources.
I often wonder if people know what this means
obviously not in this specific case.
-
Here is the definition of communism: “a theory or system of social organization in which all property is owned by the community and each person contributes and receives according to their ability and needs.” ("…and each person contributes…" seems like “for free” isn’t in this definition.)
-
Just because a nation calls themselves communist or employs some communist ideals, does not make it the only way that communism can play out. An example of this: North Korea is called a Democratic Republic, does this make North Korea the be all end all example for democratic republics?
I hate these buzz words that people on either side of the political spectrum use. They think it makes them sound educated, yet they don’t even know the meaning of the words they use
rant over.
(P.s. I don’t condone or condemn Communism as a theory, I also don’t think it has been successfully carried out in the real world to date.)
I don’t really understand what you’re asking. I’m on Calnogor server if you want a reference, it’s no Valhalla or Eden but it has an active PvP community and has a good population compared to other NA East servers.
Also the players I’m referring to are myself and a few other members in my company who perform well in wars but we’re not 20 something’s anymore, so we can’t be on at 1am to push influence every other day.
Is there anything official about this? What are you all talking about?
The real solution is that companies should have to field their own roster with their own members. 10 slots available for outsiders from other companies or factions.
2 day cooldown on changing company.
