Just want to put this out there for caution! When AGS had the first major duping issues a lot of people didn’t think the bans were handled well. With FSS a lot of players have come back who weren’t around for the February/March ban waves.
I know a lot of players who were jaded and said things like" AGS doesn’t ban, a lot of other players got away with it last time." and stuff like that. The bans that followed weren’t perfect but they got about 9/10 people I know that duped a lot of items and players that bought had accounts suspended for weeks with the items removed and no money refunded that was spent on the items. The players that were missed didn’t make large profits off of the dupe.
I have no reason to believe AGS hasn’t gotten better since as they had to deal with previous bans. So please don’t dupe then go full surprised pikachu face and pretend they randomly caught you and were the unlucky 1/10. Chances are if you duped you are going to be banned soon, they normally suspend the means to do the dupe and have a ban wave following soon after, last time it was about a week after that players starting getting banned after the exploit was fixed.
If you come across an exploit the best way to report and keep your account is DM a community manager on the forums, AGS support ticket system sucks and if you go through the CMs on the forums I find you get more assurances of not getting banned, also do not post about exploits on the forums just DM a community manager.
Anyways don’t get jaded about the dupes, gold and BIS gear are worthless on a perma banned accounts.
also due to the massive amount of players that did dupe in that ban wave is the only reason anyone was missed I think AGS can potentially ban all players that exploited this time around and in future cases.
Seriously, don’t dupe or exploit and report to a CM if you stumble across one.
Yeap, the only reason I think it wasn’t 100% is a lot of players thought AGS wasn’t going to ban players and it was an easy exploit so the amount of players banned at once was crazy.
1 person did come back he was banned for 4 months he actually had some consumables on him still but he didnt use the exploit much and didn’t dupe too many high value items mostly pots and coatings. I do know a handful that were caught with buy orders that were suspended for 3 weeks so items could get removed from them, 1 person was missed entirely and duped a lot of silly stuff like water and pork stuff that had little value. Everyone else was perma’d and friends in other companies reported the same.
The biggest concern is that many genuine players have limited time to play with limited hours due to life. They want to get on and enjoy the game, but this has caused huge issues delaying some important factors of the game.
A huge amount of time was wasted fixing these problems when the time could´ve been used to fix many lists of other problems. So players get angry, but not at Developers, get angry at those who thought they could exploit a system and get away with it.
Hopefully, the genuine NWO community will identify and call out all these exploits in the future.
My warning is simply just report stuff on the forums to CMs directly, AGS doesn’t handle bans like they did on release they also drop the perma ban hammer a lot more than people think. If anyone dupes report it and stop immediately and don’t be surprised when they can’t log in.
The amount of people that duped in February and the amount of items duped was crazy because it was easy and players thought they could get away with it as much as the ban wave wasn’t perfect it was 1. a dupe easily done on accident, 2. done in inventory and 3. a lot of players did it
A less popular/harder to do dupe done on the most logged system in the game is not going to end well for players who use it. In fact not reporting it might be insanely stupid as AGS should know very quickly everyone who did it.
They should have just reported it, as its going to waste everyone’s time they are going to get banned and any account they offloaded onto is going to get banned.
