Warning - do not farm weapon XP in GC Cpt. Thorpe MSQ event

It will get you banned for “cheating”.

A couple of guys from our company were banned for farming weapon XP and some gold by completing the Great Cleave MSQ solo event for multiple times. They started it yesterday, did it for about 4 hours and one day later, three of them have been banned for “cheating”.

The place itself or the method of farming weapon XP there is not a new thing, the first guide videos about it have come out months ago (for example https://www.youtube.com/shorts/zsS7R2ZucMY) and it’s definitely not something you think you could get banned for in the first place.

There is absolutely no other reason why these guys would get banned for the same exact reason and all of them were in the same group, so there is definitely too much to prove that this has been the exact reason of them getting banned.

I don’t honestly understand the way these weird 2 day cheating bans are being given to people, wouldn’t fixing the encounter itself be the correct way of handling this instead if it’s not meant to be farmed? I haven’t been banned myself so I am not one of those who cries about their own bans, I just want people to know that there is definitely a way of getting randomly banned for just playing the game.

Hi @zanedi!

Thank you for taking your time to post your concerns in our forums!

I am sorry to hear that some company partners of yours were banned. I assure you that cases related to disciplinary actions are handled by a moderation team where every single case is carefully reviewed by a human moderator, we do not randomly ban players.

If your company fellows believe they were wrongfully banned, they can file a ban appeal in the following link:

Also, if you have any feedback or suggestion regarding this matter, you can post it in the Feedback section of the forums:

Hope this clarifies any doubt!

See you in Aeternum!

Hello @Darkens!

Thank you for your answer, however I’d like to raise my concerns about the appeal process and other issues with the case over all. This should be considered as honest feedback, won’t be expecting anything to magically happen after this forum post.

As many others, some of our members have also appealed their bans, but most of the time it’s just simply not worth the struggle. The first guy who got banned appealed, and the answer he received was basically just like “you cheated, won’t give any information, deal with it”.

I find this absolutely normal for those, who obviously broke the rules by for example using 3rd party programs for their personal benefit. Those people know exactly what they did wrong, and want to waste the time of the moderation team. But in cases like this, our guys get absolutely stranded - they have no idea what was so wrong that it was worth a suspension from the game.

I believe the moderation team doesn’t randomly ban players, but the banned players definitely deserve a short description of the case that got them banned. Only “cheating” as the ban reason doesn’t really help these guys know if that event farming was the bannable offense that got them banned or not.

Thank you for reading, have a nice week.
