50 Players a Side and server caps always at 2000, then if defending most of the time the company defending will pick from their own ranks, what are my chances ?
WARS I thought was meant to be the ‘jewel in the crown’ endgame PVP content.
Appreciate the is ‘Open World’ PVP, but it’s not the same.
As I wanted a PVP game - and hoped something like ESO ( with less lag as 50/50 ), how are you going to keep me and others playing if they can’t even participate?
What changes to the War mechanics are you looking for? There have been calls for forcing the companies that are involved in wars to accept random PvPers, but that’s not remotely fair to either the attacking or defending companies who have territory control on the line and gold invested (either the potentially major investments by a defending company in upgrades or the cost of a wardec for the attackers) and forcing them to accept people they don’t want is a major handicap.
If you’re not in a company, or in a company that doesn’t want to be part of the territory control game, then your only real option is to be leveled, geared, and willing to put in the work to be recognized in PvP as someone the attacking or defending company would want in their ranks during a war.
Small companies can get involved - and be the lead attacking company - in wars by contributing enough in an influence flip to get into the Wardec lottery. If they win then no matter how small they are they will run that side of a war and run the settlement if they win…so the smaller companies aren’t locked out. Individuals? Yes, that’s a real challenge.
I too don’t know how this can be managed without loosing territory which is upset literally the whole faction from a pve standpoint. Paired with some of the worst and illogical combat changes I say they have 3 things they need to do. The whole server transfer, combat and war participation.
I have yet to see anywhere like a 50/50 Fort Battle, maybe there have been some and i have missed it, and it’s not the same thing.
I say there are 3 distinct PVP options;
Open world - Mainly small skirmish
Forts - As above, with a few more players, however a lot get taken at 2am with no real pvp
Wars - Meant to be the ‘META’ pvp fun.
I am in a company 100+ players and 2 Sister companies 100+ players, we have about 30 companies on my server, so to get to play in the ‘all inclusive advertised widely META Pvp endgame’, not only does the company either have to own the territory, or win the ‘attacking lottery’.
What’s the actual chance of participating ?
I was hoping for ESO type PVP ( without the lag ), mass battles, anytime.
I would always prefer PVP over PVE - and hoped there would be more options, just seems very limited, hoping they will evolve it…
But unless players want more PVP then nothing will change, hence the post to get feedback to Devs.
I also have thought of a suggested improvement, each zone has 3 Forts not 1, if all 3 are held at the time the main ‘WAR’ starts then the attacking or defending team get a life and damage buff.
The 'hold 3 ’ would have to be maintained throughout the ‘WAR’ window for the buff to continue.
This way the company that own the territory can fight with their best team, but the rest can still help to win the main battle by holding the Forts, many more can participate and the main Company won’t have a huge advantage or disadvantage but just a little benefit.
Reasonable suggestion ? or have I missed an issue ?
