Players – including PvPers – did everything EXCEPT PvP to level up, grind up weapon skills, and get gear and watermark. Whenever they could they used cheats, exploits, and RMT to do it faster.
Just so they can dominate in PvP.
Which made people not want to flag for PvP until they, too, had max everything.
Which made getting to max look like it was too fast.
Which made AGS force everyone to slow down.
Which ultimately resulted in Expertise forcing people to grind.
You can thank PvP for that because PvE never really needed to go fast at all.
When people say they want to play a PVP-Game they usually mean, they want to win in a PVP-Game. But if the game is filled with PVP-Gamers, only the top 10% will have a game experience where they mostly win.
So either you force pve-players to serve as easy targets, or you have a game with very little PVP in it. That’s just what PVP in games other then moba’s boils down to.
The real shame is the lack of battlegrounds. Why can I not go to some sort of battlegrounds at level 20 or 25? The only reason its so critical to get to level 60 is because there is no real PVP option at a lower level.
Take out ags responding, add in ags repsonding better, faster, stronger bug fixes, not sweeping gameplay changes and you’ll have a different end result.
Hell leave it in but give this game actual servers with real amounts of players and the end result is different.
Even on a magical server that currently doesn’t exist where there is always 2k online, thats still too little for a mmo, especially a pvp based one.
A server with always 2000 Players online would be pretty much unplayable for PVE or crafting! Not to mention it would just feel wrong with that many players running around!
so pvper did the whole game beside pvp to grind and everyone is slowed beacause of us ? lol how does that make any sense, you’r literaly saying that peapol who are pvp player got trough PVE to fast xD so essentialy saying that pve was to quick.
Don’t say everyone used hack it’s simply not true…
This actually happens all the time, the only world PvP games we have available now are…
Survival Sandboxes
Battle Royals
Planetside
I don’t mind getting into PvE games, the problem I have is EVERY PvP game these days that isn’t one of the above, is either an arena, or just unoptimal world PvP that is unbalance, uncoordinated, only goals are targeting players for the lulz.
This game could have been open world and aimed a little more at being a slow planet side or something.
Unfortunately, this game is not well stuctured. It mixes pvp’r and pve’rs in all the territories with everyone wanting to flag for the bonuses of having the flag with many not wanting the combat that comes with it.
It would of been much better if they game had gone say the route of eve online where they have high and low and null security zones. Zones that had safety and others where anything goes. That way, one knows they are taking a risk if they cross that border.
But, the game and the territory in it is too small for that. It’s a bit too restrictive, static, confined etc. You have one path of missions to take. End game is the same for everyone. You have to watermark grind and you have to craft at some level. It is a bit of variation in it but right now all the game is a grind without a goal in site. Sure, for top of the line pvp’rs, the best gear makes sense. But, should it take 1000 hours to get there when the game is really so small?
Either/or, I’ve gotten my monies worth. But, I no longer know what we are achieving in game other than grinding for a watermark and defending territory that often times doesn’t seem worth having. Especially when on my server we are succeeding in combat just using good tactics.
Is it really cool for newly minted level 60 players going against folks whom have spent over a thousand hours to get to the top?
