Just another decision that AGS has definitely not thought through. So with the Brimstone sands release the 18th AGS will be adding how many new servers to relieve the que time, lets just say 15 per region. Now when the fresh servers come out they have to release at minimum 10 servers per region for que times and 10 of those 15 servers released for brimstone become a ghost town due to everyone rolling on fresh, 10 wasted resources that will take AGS months to merge. Now if they released fresh same day as brimstone sands they wouldnt have to release that many servers as you will see the population evenly spread between both legacy and fresh. By not releasing fresh in conjunction with brimstone sands creates a major headache with the que not just only on one day but now two. Guaranteed 50% of population on brimstone sands release will be going to fresh when they come out and I really dont think AGS is grasping the enormity of fresh start servers
No offense, but Amazon is the standard when it comes to hosting servers, and predicting how many servers are required for a particular game (they support many). So while they may not be perfect, and you may be on to something, I’ll go ahead and put more trust in the industry standard holders than random internet peoples ![]()

I cant wait till it ends.
Its better to wait and iron out any bugs/exploits that might come up with the biggest update yet.
You guys would cry way more how they ruin the servers if an exploit shows up few days after release. No point in rushing it.
This is going to happen regardless. If updates to regular servers hit fresh at same time its only a matter of time before a dupe ruins the fresh servers.
Why would AGS want to cater to returnees that threaten to leave if they dont get fresh server at or before Brimstone Sands release?
If you really want whats best for the game it is obviously best to wait 2-4 weeks after release to large scale test the update and then eventually capture new players. Returnees hold very little value, to be fair they have shown before they are here for the hype, what would be different this time, also ppl demand a new dedicated infrastructure that may injure the game as a whole when 90% of the hype train decide to leave again in 2-3 months leaving barren serevers with a choice should these merge with tainted servers should players be allowed to transfer from or to these servers?
A smart “Fresh Starter” will be glad about the Nov 2nd release. This way they can brush up on the existing server starting areas and quests before moving over the the FSS.
In addition the FSS servers by stating on Nov 2nd, will be less tainted with the initial bugs, exploits, and dupes of a major content release. Of course there will likely be plenty afterwards, just to a lesser extent.
Yep, there is zero point in fresh if there are major dupes. Since there is a huge update/expansion coming out it makes sense to wait to release until the dust settles and any game breaking issues are resolved.
If anything Amazon needs to be ready to delay even further if needed.
This is their chance to right the ship and point New World in a new and positive direction. If they mess this up it is unironically over. Release fresh when they are ready, not a day sooner.
This man works in development in some capacity ![]()
They are making the smart decision.
