If you aren’t going to read it, please don’t comment. That contributes nothing to anyone.
On a very related note, seems like a lot of people have their own egos get in the way of being able to read it, which is ironic, considering they’re complaining about other people’s egos.
This has to be the fourth or so post someone made going “I didn’t read this but I don’t like it because they play a lot more than me and write lots of words.”
260 genesis expeditions and my only legendary drops from the last boss are:
Primodial Edge
Primodial Edge
Primodial Edge
Oracle Amulet
What I actually want?
The spear or the hammer.
I decided that I’m taking so indefinite time off the game or until they implement some duplicate drop protection or any way to actually influence your named drop so that you can actually actively hunt for the item you are after for. This game broke me and the expedition rewards (both drops are chest) are absolute garbage. I have never felt so insulted by a game for investing my time into insane grind.
Close to 400 total expeditions now. Essentially quitting (daily cds only) until expeditions are fixed or I give all my stuff away. Firevine and WOA are unfarmable, meanwhile melee can grind out jewelry and Fury. Complete bs. Add to that we’re able to get duplicates, it’s just such a waste of time.
The grind needs to be worth the reward. It’s not even close currently.
Some luck. However once you get a third leg spear out of gen you sort of become jaded. Doing thousands of gen runs for a staff with an absurd drop rate? It’s soul crushing.
Can you also send this to the devs. I think the OP is definitely onto something about the loot being bugged. For Example, This is the amount of smooth bone rings I have collected in about 90 runs or so. Notice, ONLY ONE is above 590 gear score…
The point with some items not dropping (or almost not dropping) above 590 always weirded me out! I always dropped the exact items you named in quite low GS 580-590 (Sol, Final Respite, Will of the Ancients), while I drop other NNT-legos easily as 595-600 constantly(!!!).
This must be some kind of error in the loot table after reading your post and my personal experience - 100%. I cant believe this is intented. And I always thought I was just super unlucky with my 585 Will of the Ancient. Seems not…
I couldn’t get past the first part complaining about crafting, so won’t comment past that. Have you tried to max jewelcrafting to 200, get all the gear, and actually try to craft something even close to BiS like the rings you get from drops in expeditions are?
I probably spent 50k in gold (mostly buying gems) and doing countless hours running the cutlass mining loop to get to 200 jewelcrafting (pre crafting changes patch), I imagine it’s more now.
How much does it cost to craft with timeless shard and a perk like keen awareness or something that is required for a BiS? A lot, take a ring for example:
13 Asmodeum at 350g each
Diamond or Onyx - 200g
Timeless Ring Shard - 3,500g
Draught of Corrupted Ichor - 180g
10 Iron Guardsman’s Insignia - 57g each
That is 9,000 gold per attempt, with a one in five chance, so 45,000 on average for a 600GS ring. That ring is then often garbage as they often get hit with “Random Mastery” thus only as good as a 590 ring at that point. We have to put CON on else we risk getting mismatched perks to attributes. So you make 5 and get one 600GS, what is the chance it’s something actually worth something? Low. I’ve crafted maybe 60 rings myself over time, none of them have been close to BiS. The majority of them sell for less then their cost (1000g). A 600GS with two good perks might barely make a profit.
Right now the accessories market is flooded, anything that isn’t close to perfect is worth nothing. Earrings and amulets can be cheaper to craft, but not by much, but they can also be more expensive if for example you want to force refreshing toast (3,500g craft mod).
How did I get money to craft 60 rings, plus all the earrings/amulets I have? I was doing them before the market flooded, so even the 590’s with two good perks were often turning a slight profit, and this was before shards, so cheaper again, just the jewel and asmodeum cost, which often were just from my own cooldowns. Right now the market is toast, it’s worse then gambling. Most people will make a major loss on it going forwards.
One thing I agree that is majorly on the point based on my casual playing experience is that we need to increase content and rewards for pve’rs
What I am noticing so far when people reach the end game is that they ALL thrive to become PVP’ers (though nonetheless, they will still do chest and elite farms), one way or another. As a result, the number of farmers has significantly decreased. Without the farmers, resources that were often used like ores, hides, fibres t5 reagents, and other stuff that are used to increase crafting levels and supply major guilds that non-stop spending, (since they make millions gold per week) have inflated to an insane amount over the past months.
For example, on my server with the recent update, the supposed overproduced orichalcum ore went from 0.01 to 2.24 and obsidian flux has continuous inflation of ~0.02/day.
This just two of the examples, but this inflation is happening across almost every single crafting material and has a major impact on motes as the supply rate for those are almost non-existing. This of course made crafting rings incredibly hard for the smaller guilds and solo individuals since production cost is much higher than profit for people who are below lv 200 in jewelry.
Someone might think, why not you farm those resources and sell them off for gold? or make them as a supply for your crafting levels so it’s cheaper?
Sell them off for gold? Sure, that could work since everything are expensive, but what if you want to craft? What in exactly are you making gold for? To buy a piece of 600 GS gear that cost 10k? Where is the motivational goal for farmers?
Let’s do some calculations for people who don’t craft.
To reach lv 100 crafting in weapon smite, you need 5000 iron ingot + 8809 green wood + 496 coarse leather + 1402 flux. If we calculate based on the current market price it would cost roughly $8300 gold excluding taxes. Now, that is not a problem since they’re all t1-3 materials (except flux) and easy to gather and they’re relatively cheap.
However, when we want to reach lv 100-200 t4-5 materials you need 135692 starmetal ores, 76232 iron ingot, 48026 fluxes, 217304 green woods, 4200 coarse leathers.
If we put that in market price, it would cost $360,000 gold excluding taxes. In my entire 4 months of casual new world gaming, I haven’t even made $300,000 gold playing since launch. I am not even going to predict how much time you need to gather these astronomical amounts of resources to actually achieve what a major company that owns land can do in less than a week.
we dont want to nerf craft, we just want a balance.
You said in ur 4 months of casual gaming u havent made 300k$ but check the expertise from players that played 4 months of casual gaming too.
Another point that we have to considere is : people can just buy gold from bots and get all skills to lvl 200.
I love the idea to decrease the odds of dropping second BOP item in expeditions, I got 3 600GS Woodswarden in two days when I dreamed of having Doom of Chance Earring smh.
On the other hand I’m worried AGS might mess up the change and make the named item not drop even for the first time, considering their track record
