Thank you! If anything, those of us expedition farming want confirmation. Maybe Will of the ancients and firevine are supposed to be a 1/5000 expedition drop. Or maybe not…

Please nooo… having PTSD from WoW, the most toxic stuff especially during classic…
If anything they can introduce some kinda dummy (part of the Furniture) that will record your damage, but data is not sharable. Don’t want people to ask for your DPS number before inviting you to a group.
Besides the damage meter thanks you for the post, feels good to read actual feedback.

“Luck” stat is bad game design. Period.

In games like NW, developers have specific drop rates planned out in line with the overall game and economic health. Why you start slapping additional luck on It removes the control of the of drop rates from the developers while simultaneously making anything with luck become BiS and thus inflating item drop rates.

Developers will notice the increase in drop rates via their telemetry (and trust me, they WILL know exactly what every items drop rate is), then reduce the drop rate to being it back in line with their original targets. If you don’t run luck you become even more screwed.

Simple solution: Remove luck stat and let the drop rates be equal and what the game design intends, giving control of the true drop rates back to AGS.

Source: 4 Years working in AAA games QA, including on ARPG’s with similar loot systems to New World.

Many other MMO’s and ARPG tried “Luck” stat and ultimately decided it was bad. The most recent example I could think of is Anthem. Quite why AGS didn’t look at what previous games did and learn is baffling.

Imagine wasting 16hours a day playing games. Tombstones wont have all your achievements on it :frowning: If I was 15 years old I’d be super down for 16hour sessions tho

I’m all for forced PvP areas. Like in Lineage 2 about 10 years ago, when you had to PvP for PvE content.

i am part of the group of the OP. We ran 3 players on (luck on) and 2 players off off (luck off) and recorded all items on a spreadsheet across 14 days. The players were rotating and an equal amount of players with luck on and off were tested.
We did not test with Pearl off as we deemed it would drastically increase the cost as we would essentially need to waste a lot of pearls.

Agreed. NW is not WoW. It doenst need to be WoW. Leave the damage meters in WoW.

I personally dont want it to be wow. But, WoW has been around a long time. And, addons are player developed and player used open source projects. They contain A LOT of useful features that players want and spend their personal time creating. There are good ideas in them there files.
Damage Meters are a great example of amazing things created by the players. And AGS can learn from all of the other MMO’s, copy concepts that players really enjoy and deliver their own version to us… This is not WoW, and i hope it never will be.

I am curious on a couple things, with legitimate, non hate questions. Are you claiming your 16 hour per day sweat fests were purely legitimate grind, no exploits or dupes? Feel free to plead the 5th. (Grin)

Your point of view is from people that play 16 hours a day or more. Many game mechanics are in place to slow people like you down, and it impacts my play style. This is a well known issue in MMO’s.

I must admit to some amount of bias when I see people like yourself posting things like this after everything that has happened in this game as it does taint examples like this with all the exploits and duping that happened.

The suggestions and observations are on pace with what your type of “16 hour” per day play involve, that’s fine for you, plus ALL have been pointed out many many times with the exception of your personal trait wants. The time you spend in game is what devs program around and why the game is in the state it is, to slow down people like you.

If the devs programmed for my playstyle for example, you and people like you would be swimming in even more loot than you know what to do with. How do you suggest they average that out aside from more detailed programming to cater to all styles. I know the AGS dev team will not do that, it is very complex and I personally feel they are incapable of it.

The same can be said of crafting with the amounts of items and types needed to make high end items. I could go on a mini rant in regards to this topic alone, but exploits, duping and more taint this subject too.

Does the game cater only to your playstyle and suggestions in regards to your time invested? Should the devs look at your 16 hours per day and continually build around you and yours? It clearly is the case they are doing just that.

Nothing you posted would help a solo player in this game, nothing you suggested would help any small groups enjoy the game and have fun…in my opinion.

The game needs to cater to all, not just a 16 hour a day company that wants “challenges” and more content created for their playstyle.

Legitimate congrats on achieving most of what you wanted, and I feel the angst for what you have not. The game and dev choices currently have not done that for me or my playstyle.

I don’t know where this is coming from but playing 16 hours is a day is insane.
Not impressive, just stupid.
You can do whatever you want with your useless time but games aren’t made and should never be made for this absurd ammount of time wasters.
There isn’t a single period of your life where 16 hours/day is ‘fine’.
Get some professional help.
Furthermore progress should be equal or easy to achieve for everyone through daily activities that don’t require more than 2-3 hours tops.
You want to throw more time into it? Nobody is stopping you, just don’t ask that it’s given more meaning because you want to feel special.
Go spam the same boxes and mobs over and over because you like it not because you want to feel superior to others that just take the game as a game.
There are dozens of posts of people wanting bis everything, because the truth is most of you whiny crybabies don’t want fair fights or skill checkups.
Sure the gear/weapons are unbalanced but outside of tweaking them, a fair pvp eviroment should always have the premise of equal gear.
As for PvE I can’t tell if these people are actually serious, this game is a joke.
Finished both dungeons with randoms with green items pre 550 hwm.
Imagine spamming dozens of them so you can have this air of superiority… smh.

Why not play and also hang out with friends, practice a sport, read something.

I did make a joke about his sentence structure. I asked questions for clarification. The only thing you are doing by angrily berating people is raising your blood pressure, stress, and aging yourself faster. Whats the underlying feelings say? you talk about crying a lot. Were you told to be a man and not cry growing up?

While I really appreciate the work you put into this it’s way too much to read.

man … i think you should read it again.

If a player that play over 10-12 hours a day could’t reach some goals, imagine small groups and solo players ? if we ballance things, this will be better for all players, and remember if you play more hours you have more loot you have more experience etc otherside just make the game a idle mobile that blocks ur progression.

nah, long term goals are fine in a game meant to last years. Feel free to work towards them at 2-3 hr increments if you wish. What is progression to you anyway? crafting skills? 1-200 in 2-3 hours. Is that what you are saying?
