We don't want refunds!

Hey, defending multi-billion dollar companies that do a lot of harm somewhere in the world is super Cool now to youngsters cuz they support the dominant culture.

Gone are the days where it was normal to criticize anti-consumer practices. Now, we beg companies on our knees.

They are locked into the prison of two ideas. Only extremes exist. If someone like this supported a program to spend government funds to teach cats to swim and you said you were opposed to spending government money to teach cats to swim what they hear is you want all cats to drown. There can be no inbetween.
Even if you said hey I want cats to learn to swim I just don’t want the public to fund it you still want all cats to drown.

Yup. And extremes lead to Tribes cuz Tribes are the easiest way to exert your values/control.

Oh and I forgot. I am not opposed to getting a refund. I don’t need a refund as I said in the other thread I think I got my entertainment value already. But if they are going to just toss out refunds I’m not turning down forty dollars. I wanna keep the game though so I’m going to read the fine print before taking the refund.

sad people want to refund 40$. that’s like 1 steak dinner.

I can think of dozens of other games where my $40 went a lot, lot further than that.

While I can agree 40 bucks for a couple hundred hours of gaming is a good deal, that doesn’t excuse the dumpster fire that currently exists in the game right now. With all the bugs, glitches, and blatant broken mechanics that should have been fixed well before any launch, as far as I am concerned, while I have had much fun, and still do playing the game, we are nothing but alpha testers who PAID for the access.

It’s unfinished in pretty much every regard, and people act like this is acceptable and should be overlooked because you got enough time in the game. It’s absolutely mind blowing.

It’s a normal state of an MMORPGs release. If you want bugfree games go play your 3 hours long immersion games for 50 bucks.

Not even close, but you keep pretending.

Enjoy your day.

There’s a major difference between criticizing something, and playing a title for 100+ hours and then start talking about demanding a refund.

Giving critique is fair. Especially if its meaningful critique which can be used to better a product.

Playing something for over a hundred hours and then demanding a refund, is just something which requires a special breed of people. It’s like eating a three course meal, then deciding not to pay because it wasn’t totally to your liking. Like going to the cinema, sitting through an entire movie, to demand your money back. Like buying a card, driving in it for 100k miles, to demand your money back.

It’s just ludicrous.

You don’t have to like the product. That’s fair. But once you’ve invested such lengths of time into it, demanding a refund is doing little more than making oneself look like an absolute tool. If you have no interest in a future for the game / with the game, just let it be. Uninstall, move on. Go play another title. There’s plenty of games to play. If you want the game to improve and continue playing, fair as well. Share your feedback, ideally in an adult manner without calling AGS employees names or crying incompetence and whatever more we see hurled in their direction. And either stick with the game, or just check back in a while.

And as a community, we’ve said it plenty enough of times. Don’t preorder unless if you are absolutely certain into knowing what you are buying into. Don’t buy on release unless if you are absolutely certain into knowing what you are buying into. Just wait a month or two. See how it turns out. If you don’t want to deal with potential issues, this is your way.

I dont want a refund, I want compensation for my 400+ hours of play testing we all just did for them without knowing it :stuck_out_tongue:
Insert sarcasm here …

i want bonus exp and extra 500 lbs bag space for being a prime subscriber

I don’t understand, those wanting refunds because the game is so bad, why have you played 200+ hours lmao.

I have definitely gotten my money’s worth.

You’re misunderstanding the dynamic here. These people aren’t “locked” into anything, they’re using hyperbole for psychological impact. Take for example @Avitus inability to accept the simplest of obviously verifiable facts… that Amazon the retail giant and Amazon Games do not share a bank account and are legally distinct financial entities. This isn’t just the result of a lack of awareness else they would quickly learn, it is a perspective chosen intentionally… as a means of spreading that perception through the expression of his viewpoint. The “small indie company” viewpoint of cynicism and mockery.

The question they ask isn’t, “how can my language be used to most accurately reflect my ideas within the context of trying to be as accurate with respect to reality as I can be” but rather “how can I use my language to influence other people’s perception of reality.” Now, “to what end” is the obvious next question but we’re not really able to confidently speak on motives yet.

What can be said is that the people like @Avitus want to add to the general perception of discontent across the userbase, but you would need to dig a little deeper to get past all of the shilling etc… to figure out most people are generally satisfied with what is going on. This is a normal MMO launch, with a normal amount of bugs, with a normal amount of communication, and a normal amount of developer effort going toward cleaning things up at a normal (i.e., weekly, and even often faster) rate.

They must be garbage men. I mean who else would spend 300 hours+ a month on “trash” ?!

Seems you proved my point. You literally didn’t have to write all that. None of you do or have a valid reason to care about what people demand of the company. This behavior has a name…

You are also pinning some opinions on me that aren’t mine or guilting me by association or deflecting to say more of the same that I’m not interested.

I never asked for refund nor agree with that. I enjoyed the game and found my hours worth the 40$ but I detest all this pointless defense of companies. I’m sick of it. Anyone with a problem with said companies feel like they have to fight other costumers instead. This shielding is messed up.

Also, tldr.

I can’t believe that players are shilling for a company that’s almost worth a trillion dollars.

I don’t want a refund even if I never play again. The world looks pretty, and if I ignored all chat and player interaction involved actives, the experience was a serene beautiful exploration through gathering.

But we do want refunds….

It’s a feature not an exploit at this point.
