We need constant threat, thrilling location

Its just boring when you gather something, even flagged. Someone will attack you maybe once per 2h, or not even at all. People if see you from a far, in most cases they mind their own business and will avoid fights.
How about some location with a lot of any kind of resources, but there would be constant threat, high risk-high reward gathering with constant thrills. There could be some wandering beasts, which will kill you in 2-3hits or stunlock you to death. Or maybe some hunters npcs, they will stalk you and shoot you, you have to notice them in time, to kill them, because they would 2 shot you. Or maybe some kind of dragons/griffins that will randomly fly(most of the time they will walk) if you see them flying, you must hide in the bushes. Gathering in some unpredictable and dangerous location would be fun. Im bored of gathering ori in myrkgard, you can just steal those nodes from elite monsters, 0 risk.

You want 2 things:

  • Actual PVP content in the overworld
  • Dynamic Encounters

Actual PVP Content

  • This requires a PVP centric activity that doesn’t rely on other activities i.e. gathering, farming or PVE. It must be solely PVP based, an example is when a company pushes for influence and another company comes out to stop them. That’s focused on actual PVP content, we need more of those and not farming and gathering bonuses since those do not make PVP the actual focus (hence your frustration)

Dynamic Encounters

  • New Patch will add some of these in RS and some other place, I can’t remember the place so at least it’ll breathe some life into Aeternum? Maybe we need more like the Turkulon event among other things, or maybe a surprise raid against players? i.e. while anywhere in the overworld, you suddenly get hounded by 3 waves of corrupted mobs trying to kill you, survive and win gold and stuff.

For that, I just go downtown.

I’m not a PvPer, so I have no desire for PvP content. I’m not opposed to it, but its ā€˜not my thing.’ However, dynamic events – that I would absolute love to see.

My favorite and most memorable quest (repeatable) was in another game. It was a small town/outpost where you had NPCs that you could buy stuff from and served as a quest hub. But it had a dynamic event so that every 30 minutes or so, enemies would, in about six waves, attack the town. The NPCs would shut the gates and ā€œhideā€ in their homes. Players had to the option to do the event (defending the town), or leave, or climb up on something and watch the town get sacked. If the Players were successful defending against the six waves, in wave 7 (the final wave) a boss would show up and be like a ā€œRafflebonesā€ drop. Good loot and payout for completing the event. If the Players were unsuccessful, then the merchants would be slaughtered and wouldn’t respawn for about 10-15 minutes. And it would repeat. I loved being able to defend the town. It was soloable and the more people that joined – the bigger the waves would be. So it scaled based on the participants.

That’s the kind of dynamic event I would like to see. Choices matter (even for just a short while) and the events, not only have consequences to the world, but also how the next series of events take place. Chains of events (not just ā€˜one offs’).
