Bow, like musket, is pretty mediocre in everything except OPR stat padding. Its more efficient to bring other weapons to dungeons. It’s better to bring weapons with AoE, CC, better burst to wars. Bow is easily focused and killed in arenas because the area is small and bows advantage in range is already taken away.
Meanwhile we have weapon combos like GA/WH great for all content. FS/IG/VG great for most content. Anything that might change that status quo is quickly cried about and nerfed.
Its only day 1 but im finding the bow shots to require more skill to land this patch.
You cant just fire into a clump of red aiming in the general area and expect to make contact.
Of course it can hurt when it does make contact but perhaps this will decrease its overuse when people arent getting as much value as before.
Idk we had a war yesterday, top 7 damage dealer all bow, most with 30+Kills.
And i for example had 16% Thrust Resistance and resilient set. Still got killed in like 4 hits…
I mean i can believe it. There are some great bow players out there with great aim.
If im playing bow, im around 23% thrust resist because thats really your main enemy but i just dont feel as overwhelmed as before but it’s still early.
Not according to ZaxZax, bow players should have no problem turning me into a pincushion while repeatedly killing me with those consistent 8k headshots.
Indeed, if you ran full dex on gear and stats, with no point anywhere else, you could eventually crit for that much. But no bow player is doing that, because he’s become not even a glass canon, but a paper canon.
I personally get killed by mages more because I build my resists against other thrust and mild elemental for muskets which are the real contest for my style and positioning.
That comment was pre patch and while i still get similar numbers, im landing shots less frequently.
I dont know, to me the trajectory feels different.
The arrow drop off seems more agressive but i could be imagining it.
First day of patch i went into war with no pre opr and my first thought was “lag” after missing in the first few minutes. But i slowly learnt they nerfed the hitbox and shots need to land more precisely.
