The dude seems like a troll, don’t bother.
This guy is too focused on one thing. Leveling experience! Leveling experience would be so much better I can tell you that for sure.
So you would see the bigger picture, I have at least 1.6k hours of gameplay and even though I didnt own any settlement I was near gold cap just by farming/crafting/flipping. I left because no matter how hard I was grinding the economy was too imbalance for my liking. I noticed it when daily mats were all getting bought out server wide at a specific time and I found out EF/WW owners were just buying all of them to hoard or gear up their casual friends so they can have minimum 50 BIS geared players to call into every war. With the new balance in economy a lot of people would want a fair restart.
I doubt they’ll create new servers just for an update. New people will come and leave in a few weeks, so the new servers will go from busy to dead in a month.
Everyone would have a fair chance at claiming territories is the big one. If you start a fresh server and allow transfers to it, companies will transfer over on day 1 and everything will be claimed within the first hour. I don’t see why you would be so against this? It is a no-brainer imo and doesn’t even effect me. I would not start on or transfer to a fresh server anyways.
No Dupes, bugs or cheats to give anyone a huge advantage either. Cause you know a lot of folks still playing today benefited greatly from some of those dupes and bugs. I know some people that were at 600GS shortly after hitting lvl 60…
i want to transfer to a low population server but thanks to the latest merge, such thing does not exist… So i agree that there should be new servers but we should be able to transfer as well.
Expertise grind stays, unfortunately. The game is getting more enjoyable questing only to land you back at that grind.
Merging servers that had more than 500 active players daily just before the summer event was a huge miss imo. People who were advocating for it just before a sizeable update are very shortsighted there’s no excuse for that.
Now we have queues nearly everywhere in EU maybe except Tartarus & Barri.
If there wont be at least 1 new server per region before Brimstone hits live its going to be bad - mark my words. People will quit. No one in their right mind likes to wait in a queue.
I’m fully onboard with you that some people, unlike 99%, continued to play and worked hard to get to 625. I would never want to take that away from them.
Whatsoever, this is a problem, and let me elaborate why.
I’ve spent around 900 hours into NW and then quit for around 6-8 months. I came back yesterday to try and catch up for the Brimstone update. I got into a OPR and got completely obliterated, because 6 months ago, I was one of the top DPS on my server, today, I can’t compete anymore.
Do I suggest that we get an easy catchup mechanic? I don’t. I in fact don’t suggest anything, cause I don’t have a solution to this problem. But the problem is clearly there, and it will push away many new or returning players. What we both have in common, You and I, we both want this game to succeed and to get the players back. And I’m just afraid that the returning players will feel horrible.
Catch up mechanics are a slippery slope for sure. Think this idea is the best solution. Rather not see months of grind be trivialized.
It’s a hard one, for sure. The problem is, there is a massive power disparity now between people who played, and people who are returning, to an extent where it isn’t even fun. 625 : 600 GS difference seems to be huge, I can’t even think how will it be for people who quit before they were even below that.
I don’t know how to solve it, but the problem is there, I felt it past 2 days in OPR, and it feels horrible. I’m by no means lazy to grind my way up, but it will take what, 2 months before I can enjoy the game again? Seems like a big problem, that might push many people away.
They did up the drops you get from OPR, I got a few mint pieces out of crates. But I definitely see an argument for it returning players.
But back to the topic. New players entirely should just have the option to roll on transfer locked servers to experience the game and level. At any time they can decide to hop to an older unlocked server. For new player retention I think this is the best way to go about bringing them in come the update.
