Weapon Buffs shouldn’t disappear

Currently, as it stands now, weapon buffs that you get shouldn’t disappear when you change weapons.

It’s weird to get fortify or empower on one weapon and it not be persistent. Why does my fortify or empower disappear the second I change?

The game gives you 2 weapons and 6 skills but then switching weapons is punished.

Imagine how much more synergy builds could have if the weapons worked together better.

Let’s saaaaaay for example you wanted to make a bleed burst build like in Elden ring. In elden ring bleed builds up on the target no matter which weapon you use and bam it burst.

In NW why can’t I bleeding sweep, jagged with spear, switch to rapier, tondo> evade, jagged, flourish and finish for the big deeps?

Well because for some reason… it doesn’t work that way. It’s mind blowing.

I agree that the whole weapon buffs disapear is kinda disapoint as it removing a lot of possibility.

As someone who played before they implimented this, i believe it was one of the best changes they made. It single handedly improved balance of weapon combinations.

I didnt say fixed balance i said improved it.

It sure doesnt help for the balancing, but if they could make it work it would improve the quality of the weapon system.

I’d rather just see them allow us to have 3 equipped weapons to swap between.

I am on the fence with this one but I do hear what you are saying.

I think the argument would be you get a buff for using the Rapier because you would have become proficient in that weapon and when you switch to a Hammer you are not as proficient in it and it is a different weapon so why would your mastery from one style of ‘weapon combat’ carry over to another style of ‘weapon combat’.

I would be okay if the carry over as your described only applied to weapons of similar types. Such as switching amongst one handed weapons for example but not if you switch from one classification to another, one-handed to magical for an example.

It would be so hard to balance all the interworkings of buffs etc. I played when the game was like it was before, and you would see people straight up cranking and destroying with 35% empower from hammer passive swapping to GA and doing maelstrom to one shot everyone.

Rapier bleeds being bad is a design flaw from rapier not because buffs from other weapons don’t swap.

Hiya,

Thank you for your feedback! I appreciate everyone contributing to this discussion and will forward your ideas to the Dev team.

Hey thank you,

Also I want to clarify that rapier bleeds is ok in pve, however in pvp leaves a lot to be desired.

It would be really helpful to have a damage meter in the game so we can see what weapons/classes are performing well or underperforming

Thank you for clarifying! As far as a DPS meter, I know it could be very valuable to have that knowledge readily available.

granted the ONLY major downfall is those who focus 1 weapon, and only use a 2nd weapon for utility would 2nd a Hatchet… always… Berserk for Free CC extra dmg and anti stagger

but if your talking about “keenly empowered” or “empower on meteor shower perk” those should be legit ok… seams silly to proc a fort buff from hammer, then switch weapons and loose it before you even get to use it

Weapons will straight up just be too op, it was like this on launch. if this is done everything will have to be rebalanced. This shouldnt be AGS main focus rn
