Weapon Damage in PVP vs PVE?

Seeing how I always see posts about some weapons being severely overpowered or under powered in pvp vs pve. Is there no way to balance these by the type of things being fought?

I’ve seen some posts about weapons being severely low dps in pvp compared to pve. How come its not possible to make weapons do different dmg against AI compared to players? Or even open world compared to instances such as Dungeons, war’s or even OPR. I’ve seen how going into OPR with under 600GS armor, it’s scaled up to an appropriate GS. Cant a similar thing be done to balance things from PVP to PVE?

Not yet, it is one of the few games without a DPS meter per player. But if you have run a dungeon enough times you can tell if you have high or low net DPS after the first mob, just by the time it takes to clear them.

Ive mentioned it, along with others, in other topics, that they could reduce the elemental, and if necessary, physical resistances of enemies in PvE (balances for underpowered weapons in PvE), that way no actual weapon is touched in particular with effecting PvP whatsoever.
