All weapons and all weapon abilities should scale, with 300 being where you get full effects from the abilities, 500 wouldn’t be more effective than 300.
This would balance the game and solve all of the current balance issues. Except musket because they’re literally balance really well.
So basically what you’re saying is you want no healers? A class with 0 offensive capababilty to die any time someone looks at them, or to have heals so meaningless that they don’t actually keep people up?
The only way this would happen is if healers don’t invest in focus. I’m cool with them using a rapier but their functionality with its abilities shouldn’t be on par with someone at 300 dex. There’s no way you can think that’s fair.

instead of comparing how it was to how it is, they see patches such as
-was buffed recently
-was nerfed recently
even if something could be nerfed by 50%, and then buffed by 10%, people won’t say “so it is now like 60% of what it supposed to be”
no, they will say it was buffed, because the last thing that happened was buff
So what threshold of dex would I need to run? And what do you think if I run No dex the abilities should do? Nothing? Like I’m confused how you think abilities would operate differently at different thresholds?
yeeaaaaah…how bout no? if you need to run 300 to get the full benefits of a weapon, please explain how the 300 con grit change will even be viable for any person running that including a tank. Also explain how weapons that are built to benefit from a split in stats will function…like every melee weapon. There would be absolutely no point to main and secondary scaling. Maybe when they come out with the new focus scaling weapon, LS users will stop using rapier and you will have something new to cry about.
i mean, there is one weapon that does not do much when you don’t run specific atribute
it’s Void Gauntlet and Decay tree - you don’t heal when you don’t have focus
i Run LS/IG and its unfair that people can run other combinations like the rapier that make you very invulnerable. i used to Run this specific build and I felt like I was cheating. I just want to see them balance the game because I am a passionate player and I have spent hundreds on cosmetic unlocks.
this is a really good example of them balancing the weapon and i wish this were the case for other weapons. we shouldn’t see overpowered weapon combinations that is a sign that there is a balance issue and that it needs to be addressed. I think LS/VG is a really great build and well balanced. They help their team in OPR and War and they can also heal. They do damage, they heal, and if players fight them inside of oblivion, they can also tank

foundation of New World is that you are not anyhow holded back on what do you want to do with your character, you are not bounded to specific build due to class system, you can make and create new builds, just because youi think it’s unfair that doesn’t mean it really is

Tell that to all of the healers who want to heal in medium or heavy but can’t because they are holded back on what to do and are bound to specific build due to this system. Healers have to be in light or there heals are bad. Tanks have to be in heavy or there defensive buffs are bad. The same restrictions should apply to DPS. they should have to invest heavily in their weapons primary stat or their abilities should be less effective.
300 focus heavy healer sacred heals for 300 per tick. Do not say you can still run in medium or heavy as a healer. You can but you are not effective. Whereas tanks will no longer be effective (10% fortify in light at 50%, 90% fortify in heavy at 50% on the PTR) if they are not heavy. But the devs have left dps alone, they are effective regardless of armor% and regardless of the amount of attributes invested into weapon attributes.
