Weapon Swapping should have a cooldown to prevent macro abuse

This would be a good counter-measure if there was a cooldown to swapping weapons, based off the attack speed of the weapon you are swapping from (with minimum of 1 second). It’s very annoying seeing & dealing with machine gunning light attacks that just kill things too fast.

They need to stop going down the path of making the game worse for the general population in order to address things some few players are exploiting. Instead of making combat more clunky, just directly fix this machine gun issue.

How quickly can someone switch from a hatchet to a sword? A Few seconds IRL ?
And switch back? There’s no RL cooldown for switching weapons so why here? Who cares how fast someone else kills something. If it’s not broken - dont fix it!

It’s funny, when I play in Outpost Rush and in the middle of combat, I try to swap weapons and even though it shows my life staff as the active weapon, sometimes my abilities are still for the Great Axe. It takes me several attempts to make the switch to my 2nd weapon actually occur.

So the game seems to me to already have a cooldown induced by lag, that lag is causing many of the issues that are being exploited by individuals cleverer than I am.

For me the weapon swapping delay and exploit is just making it difficult for players who are not caught up in the in’s and out’s of exploits.

I hope they fix these issues, without making the game unplayable for average players.

Oh how about not? It’s one of the skill cap Mechanics. Just because the macro break something doesn’t mean the solution is to lower actions Abilities of players

Don’t do a lot of PvP, eh?

I agree. Granted I weapon swap like my life depends on it outside of combat.

However a 2s cooldown would definitely not be the end of the world and would probably help make me more thoughtful on switching. But in order for that to happen they need to make the switches especially in combat more reliable.

No no no no no. And no.

Don’t make this game’s combat more clunky than it already is. Animations, cooldowns, cancels. These mechanics in combination make for unresponsive and unfun.

Hah with the way combat is would you actually even notice?
